As im sure you all know atlantic city has been taking i dive from the already bad, to the now much worse, but i bring exciting news!!!....sit down for this one...

The tropicana, the only one of two casinos STILL oferring s17 throughout is now offering 4 DECK GAMES at four tables for a limited time only, no sucker rule gimicks, and they still allow midshoe entry.

The dealers dont know what to do with their cut card, and i swear to god i had a guy cut off half a deck for me last night out of this game.

About the rest of AC, Its all h17 now with the following eceptions that i am aware of seeing as i dont like wandering into the casinos that have h17 tables.

Tropicana:s17 throughout
Borgata:s17throughout
Hilton:s17 on tables 25 and higher no midshoe entry
resorts:eek:nly one s17 low limit table exhists
Taj:Only one s17 low limit table exhists

This is just to inform you guys in case you missed the HUGE sign on the expressway that says "4 DECK BLAKJACK"

Interesting development. Especially about the cut card.

Don't fret the H17. A H17 game with good pen and good speed is better than a S17 game without. Especially if you backcount, which you should be doing in AC.

Problem is the H17 games don't have good pen.

When did they start this 4 deck game? I just came back from there and def did not see that. Where abouts in the casino can i find this elusive 4 deck table? Tropicana is my favorite place to take money from, so i really want to get my hands on that as soon as i can. I will take an extra trip down there just for those tables.

Really? It's one of my least favorite places to play as the tables are always so crowded. 8D games, mediocre pen, etc.

Wow, AC sucks balls. I never thought things could be worse than the Midwest, but I was wrong.

No, you weren't. Midwest may have better game conditions, but in the end it's still the Midwest. They don't call them flyover states for nothing.

Oh come on, the rural Midwest where the casinos are is wonderful. Food is good and everywhere you go people are smiling. I remember filling up my car at a gas station after hours. They were closed, but the pumps were on and there was a sign telling you to just put the money in the mail slot if you were paying cash. After a few days of scheming and deceiving in casinos, that felt good.

Although I have to remember to avoid my profanity, obscenity and blasphemy when I am there. You can't get away with the kind of language you can use in AC and Las Vegas in that part of the country.

I mentioned the 4D game to a friend of mine and his first comment was - be careful, it could be a counter trap. Sands did that a number of years ago, putting their counter catchers on the 4D games.

It's possible, but they didn't seem to be hawking the tables any more than usual. I think it is a great promotion to attract more of the average players since that is the majority of who goes to the casino. Even your average player knows that AC has been tagged for offering sh*te blackjack games and they become wary of taking a vacation here.

The Trop has made the first attempt to make it more Vegas-like in the variety of games offered. They now have the upper hand and now there is competition amongst the casinos.

The house edge lost to offering 4D will not reflect a loss of income for as long as this is offered and may actually increase profits. I saw many ploppies this weekend sit down and blow their money because it was a 4D game being offered instead of the old 8D.

As they say "out with the old and in with the new". Something new is being offered and people want to get a piece of the action. Who knows, if it does turn out to be a success, which I think it will, they may start offering DD games and other promotions to get people's attention and attract them back to that entertaining atmosphere that was once loved.

Yes and I don't think the Trop is as worried about catching counters as getting some money in to pay their bills. Just an interesting choice, 4D. There are a lot of other things a casino would typically do before that in their situation. They may have figured out they can't compete with the slot parlors for the slot players, but I'm surprised they didn't go for a bunch of 6:5 SD or new carnival games first. Who knows, maybe they are learning something?

Blackjack is the most popular game at the casino by far. If you look around you will notice empty tables of 3 card poker and texas holdem or other such games and then look at the multiple blackjack tables and they will be full.

Most people think bj is a beatable game, which it is and which is why they play it, but a great majority of the players lack the discipline and knowledge that you must learn before actually attempting to gain the slightest of advantages. A new "carnival" game may turn out to be a bust, but varying the heavily played BJ game and branching off of a great game will turn a bigger crowd into their casino.

Now as for the 6:5 idea? Maybe everyone is just too smart to play that money stealer.

Thats just my 2Cents

-The table minimums were 25
-They are located accross from the bathrooms next to small gift shop that sells snack food and tshirts in the pit that is half blackjack and half roullette

-I beleive they are tied in with the upcoming blackjack tournament that you earn entries to by playing blackjack, it would make sense that the hardcore bs players likely to want to enter these tournaments would be happy to see the casino do something for them and more likely to play blackjack. I dont think it is a counter trap, but i did note more scrutiny amongst pit criters with good cause though.

I'm assuming that this is obviously a s17 game, DOA and DAS with nLS. If so, my calculations bring it down to a .38% HA. Not too shabby! Since we're talking a $25 min I would guess that a 1:5 (x2) spread would do the trick just fine. Do you think that would draw any heat? :flame::flame:
