online gambling in Canada

#1
Hi,

I'm new to online gambling and I want to start gambling real money online (mostly BJ, maybe roulette). I live in Canada (Quebec) and I want to know if it is legal to gamble money online here. Also, If I win considerable amounts (1000+$), do I have to declare it (federal or provincial or both). I plan to use Ecocard to transfer money to the online casino.

I've search and it seems that online gambling here is still in a legal "grey zone". So it's not really clear that I won't be in big trouble by money playing online!

So does any of you live in Canada and play for real money? Do you have any tips for me?

thank you!

I haven't played online in about a year but I'll give my $0.02 CDN. Researching the online casino is the most important thing. You want to be able to cash out at the end and you also want to find an advantage (usually through bonus hustling) The legal aspect is cloudy but I've never heard of anyone having legal problems, just problems getting their winnings. Winnings should be non-taxable but that doesn't mean these sites aren't monitored for money laundering activity. Money you make on changing funds in and out of CDN currency could be taxable but I wouldn't sweat the small stuff. Put the time and effort into finding a profitable way to play online, don't just pour your money down the drain.

thank you for your advise, and don't worry, I won't trow my hard earned money through the window!

I've been looking around this place (and others) to find accredited and trustful casino before wagering and I won't be playing (except for free!) until I am 100% sure of what I'm doing.

Anyone else with some recent online gambling in Canada? From what I found, it seem that in Canada, we do not have to declare our earning.
