I would not pay for picks in any sports but then I do not need to . That is akin to why pay a broker for stock picks , a banker for his knowledge, or a frinancial adviser for his advice ? People do though cause they are unsure of themselves or perhaps want a back-up opinion or maybe they feel it is an easier way of doing things perhaps . Many different reasons for paying for intangible services that do not result in a hand held object . Why take a mechanic along when purchasing a used car ? For his expertise that you may not have . Therte is a million examples of those who do not and those who do . I myself voted no in reality cause I do not need one and finding one who is better - well I highly doubt it . If I were ever to do something though where I had no practical expertise in I would gladly pay some one for their time and their knowledge. Live and let live and share the wealth otherwise no one will have anything I would assume .

I am just trying to keep your thread real and I think that we are on the right track so far. To me comparing a finicial analist he is in the same league as a tout. Looking out for his own intrests. Churning his clients over and over again. Just watch CNBC and you will see the talking heads telling you to buy as they are selling the same stock. Watch Jim Cramer and take his advice and you will be broke. Sure he gets it right sometimes but overall its timber. They are just giving an opion. A mechanic can inspect the condition of a vechicle and make a judgement by the wear and milage of the vechicle. To me thats something tangible. I always let people live. I probally am one of the most easiest people to go with the flow.
