i have an MGM card and was curious if they have different levels like the other casinos do. I was just curious because out of all the playing ive done at MGM casinos ive never seen any cards besides that bluish silver one. If they have levels does anyone know the point thresh holds to get a higher card?

I don't know. Now that I think about it I haven't seen any other cards either. Even the dude betting purples had the same card.

They definitely treat players differently based on theoreticall losses, etc, but they don't do tiers. They're old-school like that.

My host told me the way they do it is you're only as good as your last trip--what you did for the year doesn't matter, it's all off the last trip only!

wonder if that works out here, i play at a place near me here on the gulf coast and the comps still have been going downhill even before the financial mess now. i have had some big losing trips lately so wonder if it will start with better stuff other than a whopping $5 for my birthday month

If you're talking about the Beau, their comps work differently if you are considered a local. If you're a local, your comps do carry over from your most recent six trips. That seems pretty accurate based on my experience there. I don't know what kind of radius your address needs to be in to be considered a local, but I bet you can find out from the players club if you are categorized that way.

While this could certainly be true, I would be a little suspicious. Think about the incentive your host creates by telling you this--if you want to earn more comps, you have to play more each visit than you did before. That's advantageous for the casino (and perhaps directly for the host as well).

That said, I have no information to the contrary.

I do not really believe your host, Finn Dog.

I suspect that he is trying to increase your stakes.

Hosts earn a % of your theoretical loss,

in case you did not know that.

i still had my address listed as california at the beau until last week so as far as i can tell i was in no way going to be a local there.

ill have to ask next time im in there, i confused the heck out of a Pit person last time i was there i needed another players card and handed her a Calif. ID told her the computer had a LA address and needed to update to a MS address
