Moving on to bj21.com

To all the disgruntled & bullying guys here, Good news: you guys win. I lose. I always quit and move onto another business where the owner does care about his customers. Unlike Ken Smith, for example, Stanford Wong does care. Some of you guys probably remember Wong has reinstated informative posts busted wrongfully by postbusters, especially public useful info posted within the posting guidelines.

To all silent guys here, I move onto bj2.com. To Sonny, hopefully we can continue our correspondences over there: http://bj21.com/boards/free/free_board/index.cgi?noframes;read=159089

Ethan - your posts were removed by a moderator appointed and trusted by Ken. they were removed for a reason [My defense: It's nothing wrong to post public info for all players to see!], one which you apparently dont agree with. live with it or stop wasting time on these boards.

Here we go again, here comes another thread brought down by "whiners". I feel sorry for Ken if he has to put up with this nonsense everyday.

Dear Mr. Ken Smith,

Congrats to you for running such a great board so far. However, if you want to keep decent posters on this board, please do not allow your post-busters secretly remove the informative posts ----because of their peer pressures, personal interests, or whatever misguided reasons. If you feel that you will be better off without me posting on this board, I'll obey.

Best regards
Ethan

Here are the related posts in question:

In post #24 (secretively busted), I responded to Panda's question in regard to the shuffling procedures in Trop's 4 deck pit. I told him what I had seen (all public info from the pit for all players to see), and how the pitcritters and dealers handled the shuffling stuff. I found out my post was secretively removed --- Thanks to Mr. KounterStrike for tipping me off in his private message.

Ethan,

If you think you can post sensitive info on BJ21 and not be attacked for it you are dreaming. Unless they have all turned to pussy's over there. I know they have not.

You just simply cannot responsibly out good games and situations and expect to not be called on it. BJ is deteriorating fast enough without posters help.

Close to 10 years ago I was regularly playing what was the best BJ games in the US, 1-2 and 4 deckers, doing good too. I also made some posts on GC that were too informative. One day, as I sat down to spend a weekend playing at those ultra games, the Gaming Manager, who comped me fully, walked up and placed a transcript of my posts on the table in front of me, that was it for me and very soon the games!!

You cannot imagine what loose postings can lead too.

Ken runs a fine site, better than Wongs.

I agree. This is the best run BJ website hands down.

For those serious about becoming proficient at BJ,
joining the Green Chip forum [at bj.21.com]
will cost you some bucks, but there are few
whiners or dumb-ass lurkers there,
and you do get to chat with some real experts;
including Stanford Wong via the Tues. night real-time "chat"

Regarding Green Chip, I've heard more casino personnel read that board than any of the other.

P.S. Ethan, by posting the same thing over there, you've proven you're a troll. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. :whip:

Critical information not for public knowledge

It is only common sense that certain critical data should not be posted on a public message board and only shared privately. Rough generalizations in themselves can theoretically be enough to "get casinos nervous" and cause casino countermeasures to change or increase based on paranoia and not any particularly rational financial reasons. We have all seen the game go downhill over the years because of casinos going on a "witchhunt" and change rules to the extent of being ridiculous.

Consider the amount of money needed to install "mindplay" and "rfid" chips and "iplay" and everything else--Off the chart money in hopes of singling out a very small group of individuals that are really of no great consequence to their built in house advantage and have little effect on their botton line due to the volume of business and the fact that 99% of blackjack players in general have no clue what they are doing. The sorry truth is that casinos don't want ANYONE to win...EVER! Not ten cents! It's the principal of the thing, you know... Matter of fact they will spend $1,000,000 to prevent the possibility that a few poor souls might be able to score and win a few thousand over and above the rest of "the herd" that loses. They shoot themselves in the foot financially in doing this but---They don't care and it's the principal of the thing!!!!

To go into any details of very specific situations or action anyplace that favors the player is fool hardy...you have to assume that casino people read this site as avidly as any of us and perhaps even MORE avidly than us! That World War 2 saying about,"Loose lips sinks ships" holds true.

Taking his ball and going home??? Can't say I'm upset, considering he went out trashing Ken. This is a fine board, and we all know that.

good luck

I for one can not say there is a better board out there... as for green chip why would I pay for the information I can easily find here? There cant possibly be a better wealth of information over there when there will be more active members due to our site not costing some change.

I know what posts you are taling about and NO WHERE will allow you to post information that can ruin a good game for everyone.

Creeping Panther has given you one example why.... Not only did he get 86ed from his game but that game was probably ruined for everyone else as well!

If someone wants to know (who is reliable and known on the board for counting) maybe pm the information to them. Do not go around posting this information for everyone including the casino's to see.

I know you were trying to help but ultimatley you could hurt more than you think.

Sorry you got a bad impression but do not expect anywhere else to be better because that just wont happen. You are leaving a site that can change your whole game for the better and to tell you the truth no one here will loose any sleep or think twice. A person with 28 posts that apparently did not help anyone is not a loss I am sorry

edit:
after skimming through all your posts there was no real ap talk just talk of casinos, rules and comps this why you were called a casino troll

It's often a tough call to make decisions on what needs to be removed from public view. To say that information is "publicly available" because it could be observed by anyone in that particular casino misses the point.
Posting information on this site or any other blackjack site highlights the fact that the information may be valuable and draws attention to it.

Just try to remember that there are players out there supporting themselves on these games. Outing some plays damages their livelihood. If I have to make a call that irritates a poster but preserves a game, I'll err on the side of caution.

While I'm at it, I want to extend a big public thank you to Sonny for his efforts in moderating the boards here. It's a often tough job, and his help here is absolutely essential lately as my travel schedule has kept me offline for extended periods. For example, it's been 5 days since I last logged in here.

Last of all, thanks to those of you who have praised the site. It's far from perfect, but I hope we generally make the right call on how to handle the boards.

It sounds like this guy outs a good game in a public forum that can be searched for through Google and other search engines and someone deleted it?? THANK YOU to whoever deleted it! I really hope all sites do this. I can't believe they wouldn't. How long would a game last if a casino manager found it posted as good on a public card counting forum? Jesus Christ what an idiot good thing he left but I really hope his posts get deleted on the other site if he is that dumb.

Good Riddance

This is the first time I've seen anyone take a shot at Ken and I'm troubled by it. Anybody that has met him will tell you that he's a #1 person that is friendly and honest and VERY knowledgeable about both BJ and VP (tournaments and open play).
Most importantly, he provides two sites (this one and bjtournaments.com) for us at no charge.
Members that want to improve their games should purchase his offerings instead of criticizing him. They won't regret it.
I'll be the first to admit that I enjoy some confrontation and see a little of that as fun but I certainly don't want to jeopardize this forum and/or my membership.
To Ken, keep up the good work and THANKS from me!

It was giving out info about a very beatable casino shulffle and where it was used.
Mostly every one of his posts were about casinos and no more. That is why he was called a "casino troll"

I was one of the first to join bj21 and Stanford had been selling my products before the web was invented. But I have not posted to bj21 for almost three years and have dropped them as a distributor due to their censorship rules biased against authors. Many authors have left for this reason.

Ken has it right in erring on the side of caution. At least that's how I see it- these messages aren't important and I'd rather be silenced than hurt even one other AP. A lot of the new guys honestly don't know what should and should not be said publicly, and I've done my share of online TMI when I was a new guy. And having posts deleted can be educational, because you know that you might really be on to something.

scarey info

I know the post by creeping panther just made me shudder. I wouldn't really think that some casino pit boss would glean information from a website I guess was sadly mistaken. We all know not to post sensitive info on this site unless asked and only in the form of a pm. The post by CP has me rethinking how I post in general for the sake of all who visit this site. blackchipjim
