Shifts

What is far more important is when the SURVEILLANCE shifts change, but that differs between all casinos, but is generally at least an hour before the shift changes.

Have you tried casually asking the dealer what his/her days off are? Most casinos have dealers always on the same shift, they don't usually rotate.

I honestly debated that for about 20 min. I'm not a real talker at the tables so it might have been odd to ask the question. I probably could have built up to it, but never came across something like this and didn't want to ruin a good thing if it sounded suspicious.

I always thought dealer shifts were changed weekly like in a restaurant or something. I guess i'll just go back next week and hope that I run into them again.

I had the idea of calling the Trop and asking them when a certain 4 dealers were working because I like to play with friendly dealers. I would just disregard the others while I take the one I need and use it. The idea now sounds even worse now that I am writing it down, but any ideas would be helpful...Even farfetched ones.

This actually doesnt seem too out of the ordinary to me. I have seen ploppies that will only play with a certain dealer and will move tables along with that dealer.

If there isnt anything unique about those dealer's personalities just say they are your lucky dealers or something.

Only problem is Trop might have a policy of not disclosing specific employees work schedules. I would think they should be able to say dealer X will be working in the morning/evening on day Y. Then again it might just be easier to ask the dealers themselves. Dont be ackward though.

"Shady" is an understatement !

A Dealer does NOT ever get his/her game/table assignment until arriving for their shift.

The reason is obvious.

"Hey... 'Bob', how ya doing? man it's really late, but then again I'm really a morning person, say, how late are you working tonight? Really? I don't think I could put up with that, you probably have to work weekends too, huh? Man that's rough, so when's 'your Friday'? Oh that's nice, at least it makes it easy to go to the bank or dentist, say, do you also make all of these payout mistakes in my favor on thursdays too?"

See, it's not so hard.

call the casino, ask to talk to a host, tell them that XXX is your lucky dealer, and you want to make sure he is dealing today, if hes not what days this month will he be dealing?

people in casinos are crazy and supersticious, you should know that!! they probibly get this phone call all of the time. somehow i doubt they may not get off their asses to find the infor, maybe if they see on yoru record you are a heavy bettor they will though.

Iv asked WAY more invasive questions to casino personel, it always flys if you appear to eb doing it for supersticious reasons.

sometimes they cant tell you, i have asked and flat out been told by the dealers and floor people they arnt allowed to say who is off and when or who works and when, i guess to prevent stalkers or whatever. sad thing was i worked in the place when asking that and all i had to do was grab my badge from the car and walk into the back entrance to look at the schedule

Alright, so I'm planning on calling the casino this afternoon to see if my dealer is working. I'm going to use the luck idea and hopefully it works. I'll post back to tell you what happens.

Why?

You didn't say why you want this dealer. Is she "hot", not a she, your good luck dealer or what?
Tell them you think she's "hot" even if she isn't. Do the same even if she isn't a she. They won't suspect AP from you. Guaranteed!!!

Great idea, pretend to be a stalker! They'd have less problems with that than with an AP.

And I have a suspicion this is not a blackjack dealer.

 I was thinking the same thing while reading his post.

It is in fact a BJ dealer. The lucky dealer approach didn't work when I called because they aren't allowed to give out dealer shift times. It's a violation of privacy. Does anyone know how shift times work though? Is it completely random each week or do the dealers have set schedules? CCL you said you had worked in a casino before so I'm directly this towards you.

Casino Shifts

Most casino's have three shift, day, swing, grave. Dealers are on this shift for weeks or months, most wanted to get off of grave shift. There was no interchanging between shifts.

All shifts were 8hours. Day shifts started at 8am, 10am and noon. Swing shifts started at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm. Grave shift started at 2am or 4am.

There were 3 types of dealers, full time, part time and casual. The full time dealers had a scheduled hammered out, ie they had every Friday and Saturday off from now on. Part time dealers were scheudled anywhere between 2 and 5 shifts per week and the days off were random as dice.
Casual dealers usually worked on Satuday/Sunday and Holidays in the afternoon/ evening.

So if AC stores do this, a full time dealer is easy to figure out, a PT dealer is more of a wild card and a casual dealer will be a lucky star as you will be fighting holiday civilians for a seat.

In AC, shift change is primarily noon, 8 PM and 4 AM. During busy times, like summer, there may be some in-between times during which people come and go.
