Next season contest??

I like inplay idea for a contest next season. It would work is someone like ken agreed to hold the money is escrow and allocate it to the proper people of the season. The terms inply had were fair. Look in the ban inplay thread if you doon'[t remember them. If people are interestedplease express so in this thread and we can lay the ground work. If there are only three or four of us i'd be willing to bet a little more then a hundred...

one problem is what's stopping people form copying others picks inside this forum. ofcourse people might track handicappers on other sites but what if someone posts their picks on here and the next just copies the last post. we would need a system where people send picks to a non partial party and that party posts all the participants picks the same time.

this would be hard for a guy like glove who waits last minute alot of the time to post picks. he good always post separate picks for the contest and then the ones he does for his other group later in the week.

I will take that bet. Pick 5 games a week. Pro's only. Should be intersting. Maybe we could run a contest with everyone on the site and see who is the best capper it would be fun. We could set the rules and structure like the contest on Caribsports. I was in that one a couple of years ago finished out of the money even thou my percentage was 61%. Let's say a $100 entery fee. Prize structure paying the first 3. Mail you entery fee to someone that could be trusted. Personally I have been out of the capping business for about 15 years where I used to bet big money on football. The last 15 years just for fun. But I think I can get back up to speed quickly. If we could get 25 people @ $100 a pop that $2500 to be divided among the winners. Just off hand lets say 60/30/10%. You seem like you know a little about football are you game ? We could let Ken run it if that is ok with him. The part about the money. Everything else would be self policed since people would have to post their picks on the board by a certain time. No picks by the time no points and no excuses. Assinging points for wins (2) and points for ties (1) picking 5 games a week for 17 weeks. The lines will be posted on Tuesday morning to make your selection from. My pick for this week is AZ +4 1/2 right now was bet at Caribsports. Looks good. Home Dogs during the playoff are always a good thing over the long run. But then none have covered this year. For the other game (Pit/Balt) lets roll with under 34.

ATS is the only way to go however you could have 2 contests running simultaneously if you want . The prize money could be divided equally between the two contests . One betting straight up and the other ATS that way you would or could include anybody in the contest instead of just putting one way or the other .Some people may want to only play ATS and some might want to play straight only . Why leave anyone out ?

Were do you get any idea that it would not be ATS from other then a person who can't read or comperend ? Show me were it ever was mention STRAIGHT UP other the this person. I thought you were smarter then that.

This is what I propose for the contest. If you have to add anything or have a better idea throw it out.

(1) Entry Fee of $110.00 per person. With a $100.00 going into the prize pool the other being $10 being paid for Administration Fees for someone to run the contest for their trouble. Either Sonny or Ken if they are interested or someone that is not in the contest that can be trusted. Contest ADM will start taking entries fees starting Aug 1, 2009 and closing the Contest Aug 31, 2009. At that time he will post the names of the people in the contest for viewing. It will be your responsibility to send the fee by Aug 31, 2009. If money is not received by closing date your entry is void. I suggest using Pay Pal.

(2) Contest runs thru NFL regular season only.

(3) All picks will be made ATS. Lines will be posted on Tuesdays moring for making selections. Lines will be posted by the contest ADM.

(4) Each person will make 5 selections ATS each week. Points will be assigned for each Winning selection, Tie, or Loss as follows.

WIN = 2 points
TIE = 1 point
LOSS = 0 points

(5) All picks must be made and sent to the contest ADM by PM by Friday 11:59 P.M. If your picks are received after this time they are null and void. The contest Adm will have the final say. No excuses or exceptions for anyone. No changes once picks are made and sent for anyone. It is your responsibility to make your picks. The contest ADM will post everyone's selection by 11:59 P.M. Saturday for viewing. Contest standing will be updated and posted in a seperate thread on Tuesday for viewing.


(6) The entry with the most points at the end of the contest is the winner. In case of a tie money is split between the postions that are tied.

(7) Prize money will be paid to the first 4 places as follows.

First place 50% of the prize pool

Second place 30% of the prize pool

Third place 15% of the prize pool

Fourht place 5% of the prize pool
