Does Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods offer credit or markers?
This guy is being sued for bouncing a ten million dollar check to one of them and it seems like his only defense is that the loan was illegal under state law.

Yes they both do.

Edit: They both offer markers and as 21forme says below me, they are checks against your checking account which are held for a specific period of time based on the size of the marker. For example some stores hold the marker from $1-$1500 for 7 days before depositing, $1501-$5000 for 2 weeks, $5001 + 4 weeks etc. In some way you can look at it as a interest free loan.

Right, that way if the marker is bad they can use the leverage of criminal court to collect the debt as it is illegal to knowingly issue a bad check, even on an Indian reservation. If it was simply a loan it would be nearly impossible to collect.

But I suppose if the check was good when you wrote it and the money disappeared from your account by some circumstance out of your control before they cashed it, maybe garnished by a superordinate creditor like the Federal government, it would go back to being a civil matter and the Indians can fight with the IRS over your money.

The Mohegans clearly say the maximum time individual markers can be held before deposit is as follows (and most casinos follow this rule): $1-$1,000 7 days; $1,001-$5,000 14 days; $5,001+ 45 calendar days. $10Mill "several months for collection".
Shadroc: Who you talking about? Oh, Ausaf Siddiqui; I doubt he knows bs when he played bj or bac. I thought it's a criminal offense if you write a bad check in any state to a business (casino). In CT, if check is more than $1,000 it's a Class D Felony with 1-5 years in prison and upto $5,000 fines, if Ausaf willfully knew he had no sufficient funds at time of marker. But, being filed as a civil suit at Superior Court in New London, Mohegans will probably get the judgement and Ausaf will still have to cough up the $10mill +fines, mohegan attorneys.
