i just bought 8 decks of cards to get sharp before the trip to the casino,my question is how do they shuffle? do they just take 6 decks, shuffle them all together and deal them out? same question about a 2 deck game.
im going to a 2 deck game in boonville,MO and i just wanted to make sure.

Every casino shuffles differently. If you want to shuffle the way the casino you will be playing at does, you will have to wait until you see it with your own eyes.
If your going to just practice counting/playing at home, simply riffle each deck singularly a few times (if there new packs), and then riffle all 6 decks together. Good luck as you journey into the mystifying depths of card counting.

A good way to shuffle is first spread them out and randomly swirl them (called washing) then divide your shoe by 4. take a half deck from 2 piles, shuffle them together, start a new pile in the middle. Now take a half deck from your new pile in the middle and half deck from one of the other 4 piles. Repeat until all cards have been shuffled.

Default Why Bother?

If you want to practice counting, then it doesn't really matter how you shuffle. You're better off spending the time that you would spend shuffling improving your counting skills, deck estimation, RC->TC, etc..

But how can he randomize his cards if he doesn't shuffle them?

If you are not practicing shuffle tracking them it doesn't really matter how the cards are shuffled. Just make sure you shuffle them well enough to create randomness for your counting practice sessions.

I've read somewhere that a deck needs to be shuffled 5 times to completely randomize it.
