Seneca Niagara

I regret to report that CSM's seem to be expanding in Niagara Falls, NY. Six months ago there were only a couple. Now most of the $10 on a Sat night were CSM (I'd guess 8 of 10). The good news for the BS player might be that on Saturday after 8PM there used to be NO tables below $15.

They laid off some dealers last summer. Maybe they figure fewer dealers with CSM's on more lower stake tables can bring in more money. The $10 CSM and non CSM tables were pretty full between 6PM-Midnight, Many $15 non csm tables had 2-3 players.

reality check

I saw that the last time I was there in the late fall GeorgeD. The whole place is down but not as much as across the river. They still have the advantage of smoking that the canucks don't which offsets the downturn in the customer base. At the sister property they have two but people really don't like them at all and alot of people refuse to play at them. I guess they have to relearn the lesson over again from when they first opened. blackchipjim

not sure if it applies to the Niagara location or just the Salamanca one but Salamanca has been running a ton of commercials advertising $5 tables 24/7. Probably only 1 of those most times but at least it gives a cheaper way to practice live.

I made my first trip to Seneca Allegany (Salamanca) a week ago, for a 2 night stay. It's a smaller joint than Seneca Niagara... the conditions were OK and there were just enough open tables with $10-$15 minimum. I was down large after the first day, and clawed my way back to a small profit by checkout, to cover most of the cost of the room ...

The high limit room was shut down the entire time I was there ( that was not a problem for me).

A little disappointing they don't have a few tables in the non-smoking room , like at Seneca Niagara.

Haven't seen a $5 tabel at Seneca Niagara in a few years. They di have a pit of about 8 %5 tabled, I think only were not CSM.

i made a trip out to salamanca over the weekend. there was only 1 five dollar table in case anybody was curious.

For those that go there often i have a question. I was playing a 10 dollar table and at one point they upped the min bet to 15. Since i was sitting there playing i assumed i would be grandfathered. They said that they don't do that their and never have. I could have sworn last year when i was there that they grandfathered us. Anybody else that goes there have any insight? not that going from 10 to 15 was a big deal anyway, just curious.

table conditions

Yo cc, I was there and they have them during the week. Peak hours causes them to get greedy and raise the mins on all the table games. I would go during the week and they stay low all night but as more people show up they starting raising the mins, no people and they drop kind of hit or miss. I don't know about you but raising the mins even five dollars is alot on your ror and changes my game plans. blackchipjim

I should have elaborated on the 5 dollar increase, yes it does have the effect on the risk of ruin but i only played at the 15 dollar limit for about 45 minutes after playing at the 10 dollar for about 4 hours. I was on my way out anyway. One other thing of note was that i was talking to the dealer and she said that the high limit room sometimes has min bets of 15. This seemed rather low to me since i can find 15 dollar tables on the main floor. Especially since she also said they play 6 deck games in the high limit area. I usually only go there on weekdays so i had never actually been there when the high limit room was open.

I visited Seneca Niagara for the first time in a long time and I will not be going back. I went on Monday night and every table except two were csm's. Every table was packed including all of the csm's so I doubt they will get rid of them anytime soon. High limit is still playable with 6 deck, das etc. but only one $50 table and the rest were $100. Seneca Allegany is still playable but the main floor is all 8 deck. If you're careful you can find a workable table. High limit is 6 deck with minimums as low as $25 if you catch it early afternoon Friday or earlier on Saturday. It goes up to $50 and $100 later in the evening. It's a shame what has happened to Niagara but with all the stupid people willing to play the csm's I'm sure they will not change it because of their increased holds........JtMM

I was at Seneca last night (sat) they had lots of hand shuffle tables. $10 min until 10:00pm. I have been to Seneca during weekdays and yes all CSM.

Here's the official update. Seneca currently has 33 8D hand shuffled tables, 2 8D ASM tables and 14 CSM tables. Seneca has lowered their table minimums and now have $5 tables 24/7 however the $5 tables are CSM only. They also have many $10 tables in the evenings now as well. I prefered the place before when they only had $15 tables and up on the weekends.
As for those 2 dumps across the river Casino Niagara has 1 8D ASM table and 5 CSM's. Casino Fallsview has 8, 8D ASM tables and 18 CSM tables.

One other thing about Seneca, they recently moved their pit in the non-smoking casino next to the pit in the smoking section. To the guy who made that decision, you are brilliant! I guess it shows you don't have to be smart to work in a casino.

5 Dollar Tables With 8 Deck Shoe

My wife and I played at Senaca Niagara Friday afternoon, after dinner til 12:20a.m., then had a morning session Saturday for about two hours before our 11a.m.checkout. At first we had to wait for a $5 table with a shoe.
After asking, a pit guy guided us to a CSM, but we said "no thanks".
Later they opened a $5 w/shoe... and it filled up quick.
We had some fun dealers, ran into some entertaining "ploppies"
and had great time. We'll be back next month.
I'm new at this and started out nervious, but using BS, I was happy with my winnings. I was also tickled that my wife lost most of hers, since she thinks she is the better player.
Thank you all on the forum.

Have checked this place out before. Haven't been there during the week, but on Friday and Saturday nights, and SystemsTrader has it pretty much right on. Before 10pm or so it seems the entire one pit is all $10 8d hand shuffled tables. After that many of the tables will go to $15. The other pit nearby has the majority of the CSM's and yes the $5 24/7 table that they advertise is CSM. If you're there early enough sometimes they will have a $5 shoe game. I don't think it's that bad honesty, and it hasn't seemed that busy lately.

Seneca this afternoon

Stop in briefly to check it out. Have been before and do okay....but am very selective of what BJ I play.

Here's what I saw......

5 or 6 $5.00 tables were open, all had CSM's.

2 Spanish 21 tables open, one at $5.00 and one at $10.00 both were 8-deck shoes.

4 or 5 $10.00 tables were open.....and.....ALL of them were CSM's!

4 $25.00 tables were open...8-deck shoe

1 $50.00 table 8-deck shoe (not in high limit area) with a sign,,,NO mid shoe entry.

1 $50 and 1 $100 6-deck shoe were open (high limit area)

After roaming around for a bit and playing a little Spanish 21......I noticed a low table (the ones for wheel chairs etc) that was a shoe game......at a min of $5.00! The only 5 dollar shoe I saw. I started playing and asked about all the CSM's and she said they had a problem with the CSM that was there and had to pull it a little while ago..........so, I played. And did okay :)

PS.... The pen was terrible.... like 2 1/2 decks. But....being able to play two hands at 5 per hand instead of having to double your min bet, like Turning Bone.....it was worth it.
