Default Shuffling

I was just reading a few threads on shuffling. Last time I was out in Vegas, I was hitting up some downtown sweat shops. I got the chance to play some good heads up DD games. I was spreading pretty aggressively. Anytime I would spread to my max bet, regardless of how many hands had been played or how many spots I was betting, they would always shuffle as soon as I put my bets out. Pissed me off royally.

It's called "preferential shuffling". You can search for the term using the search function to find a lot of posts about it. Here are two that deal specifically with the topic:

Can anything be done about this, other than getting up and leaving?

Just put a big bet out whenever the count tanks. You'll be wonging without moving. Adjust your bets accordingly.

I guess you learn something everyday. Sometimes these things should be common sense, but it is hard to pick up on it. This should help ev.

You need to read some more books. You may have been able to use this well known countermeasure to your own benefit.

Spread to two hands without increasing your overall max bet unit size. This also helps pen.
