New Comp system in AC

Is there any truth in what I find on another message board.

Borgata changed its comp policy for blackcard holders. Used to be even penny and nickle slot players would accumulate points/dollars for comp meals, etc. based on the number of hours spent gambling at the machine. Now it is based on dollar value or amount of loss per hour not time. This just went into effect in January it seems but they did not tell anybody. The days of "black box" point systems should come to an end. I don't know why the casino control comission let's casinos set these programs and change them any day of the week or time of day they choose. No one can figure out what they should be entitled to in the way of comps depending on what they play, how long they play or the amount of money they spend. If they were transparent and even post this info on slot machines and tables, it would go a long way to building loyalty and even influence players on what types of games/machines to play.

This sounds like new grounds for casino Comps. In particular this statement.

If other casinos follow this system the Comps that we know about previously is history.

That's ridiculous- rating players by actual loss and not theo loss? That won't sit well with the players, being that now accruing comps labels one as a loser.

What will happen to those with net wins, negative comps?

If there is truth to this comp policy, can it be said that Borgata has really slipped from its height of AP-friendliness in the past year or so? I know that most joints in AC have slid down that path to a certain degree, but Borgata used to have a lot going for it (pen, plenty of 6 deck shoes, S17, good comps).

Just a thought, considering I haven't been there since last summer (the craps tables are like friggin trampolines :flame:).

good luck

It's funny because I've been told at multiple places that they comp you more when you lose. The Borgata has steadily gone downhill. Last year they had 6 deck games with one deck being cut off. Now it's two decks and you got 8 decks creeping in. It seems that with the loss of slot players, they're relying more on getting revenue from the BJ tables and it seems they can get away with it as they're always busy at the tables.
