Advice for Best BJ Rules for 6D in Vegas...

Hello, I'm new to the site. I am heading to Vegas March 24 for 3 days. I am primarily a recreational BJ player who plays strictly BS. I am practicing counting but for this trip, my wife and I are travelling with 2 other couples for fun and I'll probably be too distracted (and possibly too drunk ) to attempt counting.

Any advice on casinos with the more attracive rules for 6d BJ? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Can you play at a $25 minimum bet? That will open many more doors. If not, then the advice will be different.

Yes, I can and will if it means I am playing under better rules. I probably average $25/hand when I play but I normally play at $10 tables.

If you aren't comforable spreading to $100 a hand, then the $25 tables aren't for you. Flat betting $25 a hand is a losing strategy.
You are better off playing a $10 table and spreading 10-50 than flatbetting $25. Even if one table is S17, and the other is H17.

Yeah, I'm not comfortable spreading up to $100. I normally bet $15-$50. So, are there any $10 tables with more favorable rules that you are aware of? Thank you very much for your input!

The simple answer is YES, but there are only a few
low stakes shoe games with very good rules extant.

They are found at some of the MGM properties that offer
75% pen' with S17, with Late Surrender and resplit aces.

You will find these table are few in number and are always crowded;
and they may be completely absent if you go looking on a weekend
or in prime early evening hours.

Thanks for the replies. I have BS mastered but I've been practicing the high/low count and I think I may try it. I feel it's pretty easy but, then again, I don't have the alcohol/other distractions at home! The idea is very exciting to me though. I do not want Joe Pesci digging a ditch for me in the desert! LOL!

If you're not counting, you're probably going to lose money, so the point is to lose as little as possible. Play the lowest limits and flat bet the table minimum. Play at crowded tables so the game is slow. Rules don't have as much of an effect as the hands per hour and the table minimum. Undoubtedly, your best bet is to find a $5 table, even if it has "crappy" rules, and play in the evenings when the tables are crowded. The Tropicana, I believe, is the most reliable source of $5 tables on the Strip, and I'm sure there's a ton downtown (but I don't go downtown very often so I don't know them). Luxor, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, and Treasure Island sometimes have $5 tables, but only during slow times. You can also try whatever casino Barbary Coast became (Bill's?), they used to have $5 tables as well.

If you are counting, then you need to worry about other things, among other things, the increased variance of spreading your bets and penetration.

But if you're not going to make a serious attempt at card counting, don't waste your vacation playing a half-assed game that's still EV negative because you're drunk and make BS mistakes. Just enjoy yourself, enjoy the time with your wife, budget a loss on gambling, and use anything over your budgeted loss to hire a hooker for a threesome.
