I'm heading over to AC for the first time (to count) and was wondering if there is any helpful info/tips you guys would like to give. Looking at CBJN, im probably going to check out Trop, Resorts, Trump Plaza/Taj, and the Hilton. TIA

AC is a place i frequent very often usually once or twice a month i head down for about a week, and im well know throughout the casinos on the strip. I would say i know AC pretty well ive been going there since i was a kid. I can safely say i have never heard of anyone ever winning at the taj, my grandfather(rest his soul) was called lucky because of how much he used to win and he hated the taj, the first time i went there i sufferd my biggest loss ever in AC and to this day taj still has that record.
I would stay away from most trump locations, and pretty much stick around trop and hilton, or the borgota. Obviously you can find a few other games here and there, i think last time i was there i was at the showboat or maybe it was resorts (one way down the other end of the strip) and i saw some S17, 5$ min tables.
The games in AC are constantly changing around, if you were at trop about a month or 2 ago you would have enjoyed a lovely 4 deck game which was excellent, all gone now though. PM me if yoyu have any questions im pretty knowledgeable about AC.

Is it? I noticed that there were a few S17 10 min tables on CBJN.
I haven't walked through Taj in a couple of months, but even if there are S17 games still there, they were cutting off 2-3 decks.

Yes, they have probably the worst pen in the city. That end of the Boardwalk doesn't have much going for it.

Ac

All tables I saw at Trop under $25 are now 8 deck. I played at Harrahs last night for 2 hours at a wonderful table cutting only one deck. Very dealer dependent in Harrahs. Since all the games in AC appear to be 8 deck under $25 I am limited where I can play with my trip bankroll. I played 2 hours at a $15 table and began with 200 and finished with $425. I would have played longer but the dealers changed and so did the game ;(.
Also the table I was at as soon as I had doubled my money was the only one in the pit I was in to change to a $25 min.
So much for the old blonde lady fooling them ...

Did you ask to be "grandfathered" at the original minimum ?

dumb blonde

How can I do that? They told me the only option was one more shoe at $15 and I had to play $25 or move. Must they "grandfather" me?

Thanks for your help.

most places will let you continue playing the limit when you started, but not all. You might have a better shot if you make a joke about it and ask to be "grandmothered in."

However, they probably did you a favor. You're still playing those crappy H17 games!

"How can I do that "

You ask them, using the term "grandfather" as a verb.

It is completely their option.

Some casinos, like Foxwoods, do it for you upon request Sun. night through Fri. afternoon. No weekends

Some casinos always do and some never do.

Interesting. I was just at the trop and yes, most of the games are the sucky 8 deckers, but there is one pit with 6 decks, and yes, at most times you can find $10 games there.. Just have to look!

Grandfathering

Flash, none of the Harrah's properties that I'm aware of allow you to be grandfathered unless they've changed their policies recently. The Borgata is very good about that though.

Why is the Taj considered so unlucky and why did you suffer your biggest loss?

One of my biggest win was in Taj. The conditions were fairly good last year, but the tables are getting crowded starting this year, deteriorating the games (this is the trend in AC now). Probably will get good condition in the early morning.

Now the slot machines really sucks. Hardly see anybody winning anything. Don't ever play slots there!
