Comp Card While Wonging

I am planning on wonging my arse off at Foxwoods, maybe MoSun just so I can play some decent VP...prob w-in at +1 or 2 and w-out at 0.
Is it worth giving my comp card every time I sit down at a table?
Or will they notice I'm jumping around a lot?
I don't have the BR to hang around at the table to eat through negative shoes, wonging cuts my RoR by tons. Thoughts? :cool2:

If it's early in the shoe, and you may be betting big for awhile, then it's worth having them swipe your card. If you think you're only getting a round or 2 before moving on, don't bother. You're just not going to accrue enough points to make it worthwhile ... and some of the floor people may get annoyed and take it out on you by lowballing your bet level.

One thing I'd advise, is when you wong in early, have your card swiped, and the count drops back to neutral, I'd recommend wonging in place. Just wave off the dealer and back count for a few rounds. If things get good again, jump back in. This way, you may continue to accrue comps at your elevated bet level if the floor person doesn't notice that you aren't playing.

This is just my opinion of course, but I say do not use a card while wonging. Using the cards forces the pit to start watching your play. Wonging grabs enough attention as it is so you do not want to attract more. I've also noticed for the most part pit staff get annoyed when they have to start rating you, then you disappear from there table only to show up again, they takeoff again.

Ty for the advice!

Now if I wong in place, what should I do while there...pretend to take a call? Maybe make a call and just have the other person know to hang up (just in case the eye in the sky can see my damn blackberry screen) any other tips you have picked up by being more experienced than me? (PM me if you do not want to put them on the board plz)

TY again!:cool2:

Wait a minute! If you don't have the BR to play blackjack you don't have the BR to play VP. You can suck ass all day without seeing quads and for a year without seeing a RF. One time when I was playing a 5X comps promo I blew though $3K on a dollar VP machine without quads.

Most of your benefit from Wonging comes simply from walking away from negative counts rather than sitting down at positive ones. If you walk away from negative counts and find a new table, a 1-8 spread is enough to make money.

Playing a hundred play nickle machine, my first dealt hand was a full house. A couple hands later I was dealt four dueces. Even though it was a triple rewards day,I figured I'd had enough.

Huh?

AM,
Not saying you're wrong but how is walking away from negative counts more beneficial than sitting down for positive counts?

It's not, you will make more money by only playing positive counts (i.e., by not playing even neutral counts) but only a little bit more. The biggest part of the benefit of Wonging comes from Wonging out of bad counts and going to a new shoe despite the neutral count. Given the difficulties of getting in and out of games in a crowded casino and the loss of comps when backcounting, I'd venture a guess that the overall EV of a backcount approach and a Wong-out approach in those particular stores are about equal. The good rules help.

Wait for a good count, jump in with a big bet and get rated. Then, stick around and play-all, but wong out at negative counts. Stay at the same table, though.

If you're just back-counting, don't bother with the card.

You're thinking too hard. Nobody at Foxwoods is watching you that closely. Furthermore, jumping out of your chair to take a call (because you can't do it at the table) is going to be more conspicuous than simply waving off the dealer when she motions for you to place your bet ... and saying "I'm going to sit out a few hands". Especially if you just lost the last bet. Nobody is going to throw you out of your chair for sitting out a few rounds at a crowded table either. Take this time to glance around the room and see if there are any new shoes starting up. You can then decide whether your time is better spent continuing to count down the current shoe, or moving on to a new table.

Think is suspicious to take a call? How about just checking my email or something...i find just sitting out some hands and obviously watching the table to keep count would be quite suspicious...

It's not that it's suspicious. I just don't think it's less suspicious than ust sitting out a couple rounds. You can't take a phone or electronic device out at the table, so you're going to have to leave your chair if you use one as an "excuse" to wong out. This is going to give someone else an opportunity to take your spot.
