Downtown Vegas - Sad report
I have not been to downtown in 5+ years. Went last Thurs/Fri.
SO SAD!
"Working the East end" I found only 2 good games, 1 very good.
First the good - 4Queens SD $10-?
Very STRICT RO6, so only good with 1-3 players.
The very good - El Cortez
DD penetration is set by a notch in the discard tray so there is no variation from dealer to dealer. The limits are either $3 or $5 to $500 but the notch is a little different on each table. The best I saw sets the card at about the last 20! About 80%. Some not quite so good but all good.
SD is strict RO6 here also.
BUT BINION'S! So sad, I remember when it was a GAMBLING HALL! Now it's pathetic. 6:5 SD with LESS THAN 50% PENETRATION. They did have a beatable 8 deck, multiple action with a $3 minimum (2 bets - $6) but I'm too impatient.
Nothing else I saw was decent BUT I never got to the Plaza, Golden Gate or the Las Vegas club.
Any reports? I'm going again in 12 days.
Thank you in advance.

I find myself spending less and less time downtown with each trip that I take to vegas. I used to so look forward to those doubledeck games (which aren't available at my home base) with low limits and uncrowded condition. The instant heat and a handful of backoffs the past few trips have changed that for me. I now spend maybe one afternoon per trip downtown. Its just too much of a hassle.

Skip the Vegas club. Plaza is often good for a big/quick score. Fitzgeralds has some gems. Golden Gate is an oasis. I don't play downtown as much anymore either. The better games are usually farther south.

Hello from a noob. I love having a number of casinos within a short walking distance. Most of the games are better than the strip, aren't they?
I thought Binion's was paying 3-2 on SD, so that must have changed back from the first of the month when I was in town. I enjoy the El Cortez a lot, thus my screen name.

Binions was paying 3:2 on SD when I was there mid march.
I suppose it's not out of the question they went back after advertising they paid 3:2 on all blackjack.

Hey Sonny, didn't the Fitz go to IGT Table ID and RFID?
From their website...
"Fitz is proud to present our automated player tracking system. You can earn rewards at any table game. $5 minimum bets are now accurately rated for more comps! The only downtown property to have Table ID. Get rated now and start earning comps right away!"
Is this game still playable?

You should have seen it a few years ago. The heat today is nothing like when it earned its reputation as The Sweaty Spaniard.Binions was advertising 3-2 SD last week, but I didn't step foot in the casino to see if they actually had it.

Binion's not ok?
Hey Shad, I had pretty good luck with the shoes at Binion's... Is there something I'm missing? Or have I just been blinded by Jennifer's DD's?
