Pechanga $50,000.00 Tournament, June 7-8

#1
Hello blackjackinfo.com participants. I wonder how many of you are planning to attend this event. The buy-in is $149.00. You must show up on Sunday June 7th to sign up. On June 8th the action begins. I wonder what format will this be. Does anybody know? I am really thinking about entering this tournament. Pechanga was going through a rough period about a year ago in which they were supposed to lay off four hundred staff. Maybe this tourney will bring out the best. Good luck to all and God bless.

Did you go to this?

I'm just now learning tournament strategy and planning on entering some low-fee tournaments early next year.

I played in a tournament at one of those CA card rooms (Lake Elsinore Casino, place is a dive) since I had a free buy-in. They don't follow the CA rules since it is a tournament (you can LS, DOA, DAS, no collection, and BJ pays 2:1).

They have one every month there, buy-in is $25 with a $5 entry fee. Pot usualy is $2000 split among the last table players (top player will take around 45% of the pot).

Low priced enough to check it out. BTW, I did win the tournament. Lots of poker players were playing. Don't know if that helped me.

I think I've been in that place. A dive is putting it mildly. I stayed long enough to check out the tables, go to the bathroom - and left.

Well, their blackjack isn't worth playing. CSM, 6:5. But the tournament is better and no smoking!

They still take a collection there, don't they? I only saw about 2-3 tables when I was there and only one of them was BJ.

They player/dealer pays the collection (no players pay). You only have to pay if you decide to bank the game (which you can for 2 hands).

At any rate, it isn't worth it because of the 6:5 and CSM. The tournament has shoes and there are no collections. The prize pot is small, however. I don't think it exceeds $3500.00.
