First Time in Foxwoods

Hi Everyone,

Went to Foxwoods for the first time in my life this week. Overall, I thought they offered the best game nationwide for those betting less than $50 per hand (the HL games in Vegas, 6D LS S17 RA, are the absolute best).

The rules in Foxwoods are basically 8D LS S17 with 75% - 80% pen.

I found the atmosphere to be pleasant. Overall, the dealers were friendly and the ploppies weren't drunken idiots.

The big negative with Foxwoods is that the BJ tables are managed to be full. They desperately try to pack as many players at a table as they can. When things get busy, you get squished at the tables. There is no elbow room, and it's just uncomfortable. My advice is to avoid the Rainmaker casino, they have the biggest crowds. You are more likely to have only two or three players at a table in the MGM or the Cedar Casino.

BTW, if you want a cheap ride to Foxwoods (or Mohegan) from NYC, then I highly recommend the Chinese buses from Flushing, Queens (located at Main Street and 40th Road). For only $10, you get a round trip ticket, free buffet and $40 in match play coupons. It's a great deal. The only negative is that the bus shows a Chinese soap opera for the entire ride, without English subtitles, and it's pretty loud.

Definitely not the best, but it's up there, especially if you find the right dealers.

An 8 decker at a full table is not a good game at all.

It is if the pen is adequate - and it often is excellent. But there are plenty of ways to play at a non-full table, and keep it that way.

The Super 7's tables used to be a draw for me during the week... better pen for the sucker bet. 6.5/8 seemed quite inviting.
