Default When one puts the government in charge!!!!!

Good work if you can get it. az

Outside the Bristol Zoo, in England , there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 coaches, or buses.
It was manned by a very pleasant attendant with a ticket machine charging cars $1.40 and coaches $7.00.

This parking attendant worked there solid for all of 25 years.
Then
, one day, he just didn't turn up for work.

"Well", said Bristol Zoo Management, "we'd better phone City Council and get them to send a new parking attendant."

"Aahhh...no", said the Council, "that parking lot is your responsibility."

"No", said Bristol Zoo Management, "the attendant was employedby the City Council. Wasn't he?"

"NO!" insisted the Council. "We thought he was your employee all of these years."

Sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain or on a white sandy beach somwhere, is a bloke who had been taking the parking lot fees, estimated at about $560 perday at the Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years. Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over $7 million!

And no one even knows his name.

Golden. Simply golden.

Default Loose council minds, except for fee collector

Nice example to show that governments (a loose collection of minds) are not purrfect. They may also suffer collectively, from these:

Hippocampus, (gives irreversible hypertrophy), confirmation bias, selective memory, delusions of self-importance, onset of chaos-of-mind, caused by boredom and repetition, and ... 8 years of persistence of worship of Tony Blair and GWBush.

It's no difference for the Democrats. Clinton was fortunate to preside over an economy bolstered by the dot.com bubble. Other than that, there was nothing remarkable about his eight years. Oh yeah, he did release technological secrets to the Chinese--now that was smart. And he did reveal the real moral character of people we elect to that once revered office. Too bad he didn't get Osama when he had the chance. Anyway, whatever he and Bush lacked in tarnishing the office of the Presidency, Obama is finishing the job in spades.

Aslan, Are we supposed to read something into that or just a poor choice of words?

Default Viva honduras libre

And why are we against the the Socialist Honduran President (who is supported by all the communist/socialist in the region) being ousted by the military and replaced by a Pro Capitalist Democratic President?

Note: I don't know the details it just seemed odd to me.

I was just teasing you.. Spade is an old southern term for African-Americans. I thought maybe you were having a Freudian Slip. It just struck me as humorous.

To be honest, I gave it a passing thought, but I refuse to let vulgar people define the meaning of words. Those who are of good will know what I mean--those who find humor in demeaning others (I don't mean you in thinking I made a Freudian slip) on the basis of their race, ethnicity, gender, nationality, etc. are not worth the effort to tip toe around in word crafting. I guess if I were a politician, I would have to worry about such things, but I'm not, and I won't. For me there is only one race, and as for gender, we may be equal to women, but I am not sure on that one yet.

Obviously you haven't asked an informed woman for her opinion on that...
