Blackjack:

8D H17 NS DA2 DAS RSA 84-88% pen with 10-300, 15-300 (I think), 25-500 limits.

or 6D (same rules as above) with 79-84% pen 50/1000.

Spanish 21:

6D H17 LS DA2 DAS RSA DDR ~84% pen 10-300 (not sure if they run bigger games)

I saw between 12 and 20 games running depending on how busy it is. No backbetting, but wonging is fairly easy. Didn't get any heat wonging in and spreading 10-120, naturally.

Summary: Bad rules, great pen., wonging relatively easy.

Of the 3 Detroit casinos, MGM Grand Detroit is the best blackjack game for AP play- but that's not saying much at all. Wonging is pretty easy during mornings and weekday afternoons, but the place gets too busy at night for wonging to be a reliable tactic to use.

Also, there's a couple of Double Exposure tables that you shouldn't touch- double down on only 10 and 11. I don't remember the other rules, but suffice to say just stay away and play another game.

If you are going to post, please post correct information. On the 6D it is S17 not H17, also they do have $25/$500 depending on how busy it is. You are way off on the Pen its a 1 1/2 deck cut on the 6 deck. Notch cut. On the 8 deck, you might get 1 1/4, but then I really don't play 8 deck games. In the high limit area $100 and up to it's about a 1 1/4 cut. I know it for a fact I have played there enough, sometimes a couple of times a week.

Then Spanish 21 game I have played only once, and I do not remember any LS on the game. What is DDR? Spanish 21 they run 25/500 at night.

There is it never any heat. You can go from Minimum to Max without batting an eyelash. You have better to be prepared for a lot of bad players tons of them. Furthermore, some people will sit out hands, play every other one. Don't tell me they are AP because they are not! I would know. I have never spotted one there or played with one. They only bad part about it is always busy, except in the high limit area. Almost impossible to play heads up, always a full table at the 8 deck games. The 6 deck games are always full. They do not even open the 6 deck pit until 1:00 P.M. in the afternoon. You might have a little slow time between 5 and 7 in the afternoon, but after that it's getting crowded.

Are you sure? It's a fairly common SP21 rule. I don't think he meant it was blackjack.
I know PS21. Two Months ago it was not there. I will be at the MGM thursday I will tell you for sure.

I only walked past the 50/1000 game briefly so I might be wrong on the pen. Also I didn't see ask specifically if it was S17 so you must be right on that too.

However, pen on the 8 deck game was almost always 1 deck cut off. Sometimes up to 1.25, but I only saw more than 1.25 once in 15 hours of play.

There was even a dealer consistently cutting off less than one deck.

There is. I doubled down and rescued a hand and a few others did too. Unless it was a dealer error I am sure that they have it.
You are total right I was wrong. I am full of it. I am not really a SP21 player. It is there (DDR).

50/100 games are S17. I never play 8 deck games.

ALL Span21 games have DoubleDownRescue.

The only rules that are not ubiquitous are the rare Redouble rule (offered at low stakes tables in Wash and sometimes in OR, mostly with C.S.M.'s)
where you can double and keep doubling theoretically up to 8 x original bet, (with a "cap" on the total bet allowed)
Basic Strategy in those games include such eye-popping plays as doubling on HARD 5 vs. dealer's 6.

The other rule that varies is, (as in BJ), S17 vs. H17.
The penalty for H17 is more extreme for Span21 than for BJ.

the vast majority of Span21 games are 6 decks with H17.

Atlantic City, Connecticut, and Canada, offer 8 decks with S17.

Everywhere else you will find 6 decks & H17, a much inferior game.
