Default Casinos in Minnesota

Anyone on here spend any time at any of the casinos in Minnsota.

I frequent Treasure Island in Red Wing and Mystic Lake in Prior Lake.

Treasure Island stands on soft 17, while Mystic Lake hits soft 17. That's the major Blackjack difference.

Treasure Island has a non-smoking room, while Mystic Lake has non-smoking tables. Doesn't do much good when it's in the middle of a bunch of slots that are smoking.

I have spent a good amount of time at Treasure Island this year. I have gone 8 times since december 22 of last year. I am up about $2600 there. I have played the 4-deck $10-$195 tables most of the time. I'm pretty happy with that place overall, its not nearly as crowded as Mystic has been the few times i have been there. The standing on soft17 isn't that huge of a difference, but it is a difference

How has your experience been there?

BTW, with the exception of one time at Treasure Island, I have been up about $1000-$2000 at some point (only dug $100-$300 to get there).. I just have a hard time tearing myself away! Almost every time i work my chip pile up to bet table max. Last time, i was down 1500 for the night (after 6 hours)... just kept losing for 6 hours. And then i was on a beautiful table.. it got me back in a few shoes. Plus all the comps :D

Another difference between the two places are resplitting aces. I believe you can resplit aces at Mystic.

Yes, at Mystic you can resplit aces up to 4 hands. In fact you can split anything up to 4 hands. At Treasure Island the most you can have is 3 hands.

We generally make it to Treasure Island 2-3 times a month. I usually wear a long sleeved White Green Bay Packer shirt. Mostly Saturday or Sunday AM. Saturday PM is probably the busiest time but I'm kind or partial to the prime rib sandwiches. That can be a good break from the table.

I don't actually keep track of how I'm doing but I know I'm ahead there. I play the $5 tables. I've only lost my whole stake there once, that was a night that was really busy and if you got up from a table it took forever to get back on. They do let you walk off and will save your space as long as you leave money. I have done that a couple times when a shoe goes bad.

Most visits I end up a little bit. My main goal is to have a good time.

I've also been to Mystic quite a bit this year. Mainly because they keep sending us free hotel rooms. Overall I'm up there also.

I keep spending more money online to try to win my money back... but maybe i should just save it for Treasure Island so that i can have legitimate gameplay.

Going to head out to Treasure Island in Redwing tonight/tomorrow. If any of you go, look for the table with a college student with a huge pile of black chips :D

I guess I'll miss you. I was up last night for the Toucan 21 BJ Tournament. In between tourney rounds I did win $25 at the tables. Not much but for 30 minutes, I was happy with it.
