Tragedy May Strike When You Least Expect It

We all know that, but...

My wife related a story tonight about a Filipino girl (call her Nancy) she works with. Nancy returned to the Philippines last month to attend the wedding of her brother.

Parts of both families and friends piled into two vans one day, both headed for the town where her brother was to get married. The first van contained the bride, the groom, the best man, and 5 others. The second van, 15 minutes behind, contained Nancy, her parents, and others. Along the way, the first van veered off a mountain road while going around a curve and tumbled down a ravine. The groom and the best man were killed. The bride and others suffered only bruises.

Instead of a wedding, Nancy and her parents attended a funeral.

Nancy is back in the states now and working, but so far is unable to snap out of it from this sudden ordeal. You just never know!
