Default Michael Vick-Let 'em know!

Some of us are sending a quick note describing our dismay and inability to support professional football as long as Michael Vick is a member of the N.F.L.

Default foregiveness

The man served his sentence for the wrong he committed. If he is sincere it with will be evident in his actions in the future. Take a good look at the lifestyles of some other pros and what they do and they should ban the league for that matter.

yeah, if he gets back in football he can make a lot of money.
and if he wants he could put some of that money towards helping stop the sort of stuff he messed up with in the first place. that would be a good thing.

I initially felt the same way, Jim when he was signed last week, but after watching 60 minutes have changed my mind. He said all the right things, but he seemed to have been "coached on what to say". Didn't seem sincere to me at all. The only time he seemed remorseful was when he spoke of all the revenue he has lost.

The NFL has suspended Donte Stallworth even though he has completed his (ridiculous) 30 day prison sentence for killing someone while drunk.

The NFL has suspended plaxico Burress even though he has yet to be convicted.

The NFL position is that it sets a higher standard for its players and playing football for a living is not a right, but rather a privilige.

I only wish I could return my Eagles Season tickets for a refund!!

Michael Vick was a full grown adult when he personally bankrolled a dog-fighting operation, for years. He bought a property in rural VA to run this operation, a property away from prying eyes. He personally electrocuted dogs that fought poorly. He personally drowned dogs that fought poorly. In one confirmed case he personally took a dog and slammed it against the ground over and over causing massive trauma until the dog was dead.

He did all of this while he was a professional football player, and millionaire.

I saw his interview and I think it was terribly obvious that he was coached and had no remorse.

I also don't believe that you can be a full grown adult and kill dogs for years and only stop to realize the fault of your ways once you've been caught. I just don't buy it.

I realize he has served his time and deserves a shot at making a living. That is why I will gladly hire him to mow my lawn, and wash my car. The Circle K near me also needs someone to work the graveyard shift.

Should the man be allowed back in the NFL, no.

If you think that Ray Lewis, Nate Newton, Dante Stallworth, etc are guilty and should not be playing football either, I agree.

He served his time and has been given another chance to play football. I'm not a Vick fan, V Tech fan, Falcons fan, or Eagles fan necessarily, but let's get over this crap.

What Vick did with the dogfighting was truly inhumane, but he was made an example by the national media, PETA, etc. Let's not freaking pretend that he was operating the last or only dogfighting ring in the USA. This has been an issue for years, and obviously still is. If the nation is truly pissed about dogfighting, why don't we see more FBI, state police, etc. investigations and raids of other rings? What about cockfighting??? This case was just so sensationalized that it makes you laugh sometimes.

In my opinion, Vick can do more to curb dogfighting or animal cruelty now than PETA ever could have without him.

What do you think this criminal will do to make money if he cant play football? What do most criminals do that cant get legitimate jobs? I say his punishment should have fit the crime, it didn't and there's not much that can be done about that now. Let him play so hes not a burden on society.

Default No Forgiveness.. I hope I don't do something wrong.

I didn't know that being nice or a good guy or law abiding were prerequisites for playing in the NFL. If I'm not mistaken about 30% of NFL players have rap sheets.

Besides, (even though it's not my thing) what he did (fighting animals) is not all that uncommon in some parts of the world and only recently has become socially taboo.

Default Bash Vick!

I suppose that the popular thing would to be bash his head or maybe shock him for a while until he is passed out. Compassion is not a word for some people much less people who grew up in certain conditions. I don't watch pro sports just because they are special people that deserve special treatment in life. The only mistake this Vick fella made was that he didn't open up a soup kitchen that served up the losers to poor asian people that need a good hot meal.
