Top Notch Vegas Hotels
I hear prices are cheap and am thinking about a vegas trip right after Labor Day.
I'll play BJ, but that's not the primary purpose of the trip, so am wondering what 4-5 star hotels people here might recommend. Especially want in a classy & romantic place near some entertainment.
We probably won't stray far from the room unless we take a cab downtown to play.
Suggestions?

I would suggest THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. I had booked through MB, but they gave me an upgrade because they overbooked. Very classy hotel with very good service and no lines for anything. I have also stayed at MGM Grand, which was good, but not what you are looking for it seems.

The nicest rooms that are not upgraded suites are at the Venetian although I have not stayed at Wynn.

Wynn/Encore
The Wynn and Encore are the most "glamorous" on the strip, and almost certainly the most expensive. But if that's your thing, and you can find a deal, it's tough to beat. They're so over-the-top in their glitz it's absurd. But a fascinating sight the first time.
(Also, poolside blackjack with windy tables..)

It dpends on your age.
If you are over 45,I'd go with Wynn.
If 30-45, I'd go with Paris.
Under 30,Mandalay Bay.
Over 60, I'd consider Caesars.
It's very subjective, there is no one right answer.

Wynn has rooms starting at $166 that week.
Wish I could find cheaper air fare from Buffalo.

Try expedia for rooms and look into flying Jet Blue. It would be Buf-JFK-LAS but you might get a good rate.
Do you have a Harrahs players card? A friend who signed up six years ago in AC, and hadn't stepped foot in a casino since, recently got $65 a nite knocked off his rate at Paris simply by logging in his old players club account number.

Switch hotels mid-week.
