St louis area

I am not ready to go out to win, but Ive seen some things that kind of give the impression that any game in this area is basically worthless? I dont really have the option of going further. Maybe I could hit chicago/joliet area when I visit family, but that would leave me stretched for time, which I wouldnt want to have to worry about.

thanks for any tips.

Come by, and scoop me up. I live in So, IL and we can hit Metropolis. Just take 55.

Casino queen east st louis looks like my best chance for anything in the future if I just wanted to try out to gain practice. Penetration looks bad but everything else seems ok. Only place that stands on soft 17. although Im kinda worried with anything that has east st louis as its location.

I used to regularly smack the Ameristar DD games in Vicksburg, and they had a plenty. It was my fav place back then..not sure what it's like today though.

Anyone been there lately?

Sage - The Double Deck game is still at Ameristar. The minimum is $15. I can't remember the maximum. Maybe $2000? No wonging allowed. Pretty much the same rules as the 6-deck game they have there which are:

- 6 deck
- Yes to wonging
- 2-1.75 decks left/65-75% Penetration (I think??)
- Hit 17
- DOS
- Multi-split Aces (I think)
- Hit Aces once
- No Surrender
- Can't remember on Peek?!?!?!?!?! Check
- DD on Anything

Table mins for 6-deck are $5 on weekdays and $10 on weekends. Max is $2000 I think.

I've recently hit up Alton Casino (techinically right on the border of IL)...It's rules are:

- 6 deck
- 5 deck penetration!! 80%
- Hit 17
- DOS
- Multi-split Aces
- Hit split Aces once
- No Surrender (maybe????)
- Peek
- DD on Anything

I'm really excited about the penetration. Definately the best in the area. The mins are $5 and $10. Didn't really pay attention to see the more expensive tables and can't remember the maximums.

If you are curious about other casinos (Queens, President) let me know. I have been to them all and go regularly. If you have any questions or want me to check the maximums let me know and I will get back to you :)

I would immediately rule out Harrah's and Lumiere. I remember they just sucking all around with crappy pen.

Arogsy is the Alton Casino.

President's is pretty much the same as Alton except with poorer penetration. Around 60%-%70 me thinks.

BTW, Alton can be painfully slow late at night.

I checked out the $5 games at the Alton and the limit was $500.

The double-deck game is in the "High Limit" aka. very stuffy and boring empty room at Ameristar. Minimum is $25 maximum is $10,000 per hand, as if anyone would ever touch more than $500 hands at the St. Charles Ameristar.

Six deck minimums are $10 / $1,000 on Friday & Saturday and most nights on most tables, while on other nights there are $5 tables with maximum of either $500 or $1,000.

Casino Queen

Rosty: Thanks for the update. Casino Queen has always had bad pen. and bad promotions and now they hit s17 too! Even less reason to go there.
