Cripple Creek?

Health concerns

The Cripple Creek altitude is over 8900 feet which is about 1000 feet into the range mountaineers consider "high" (versus very high or extremely high). That means anyone living at sea level or modest elevations, even healthy, fit people, will not have time on a short visit to adapt to the reduced oxygen delivered to the body's cells, including brain cells. The result is impaired concentration, reduced endurance and poor sleep quality, all of which might effect the performance of an AP. It's also common for low landers to develop nasty headaches when ascending to higher altitudes, even locations like Denver. On occasion, a low lander can experience high altitude pulmonary edema when rapidly ascending to high altitudes above 8000 feet. That's a medical emergency and treatment includes returning to a lower altitude. On the bright side, the reduced brain oxygenation at altitude can cause a degree of euphoria, making the experience fun if not financially rewarding. That's also why Denver is nice to visit.
On a serious note, anyone with a chronic respiratory or heart condition should not consider going to this kind of altitude without first checking with their doctor.

I agree, black hawk is much better than Crappy Creek. First off, Colorado still has the lowest max bet in the country, and because of it, the casinos don't pull in the tons of money they could be. Crappy Creek is just god awful, old buildings, lame comps, ugly waitresses. The game has just recently changed there too. I was there twice before with friends, and the first time, I believe it was gold dust casino, had $10-100 DD. Wildwood also had a similar game. (btw, wildwood is the only decent and brand new casino there) But now my friends are telling me it is, $25-100 gold dust, and $50-100 wildwood. Trust me on this, if you must go, go to black hawk. same lame $100 max but at least the digs are better, and the waitresses are sometimes decent. Sometimes.
