I should have had a casino go up about 12 miles from my house but the town voted nay.:mad::( Now the closest I have is 40 miles.

Well, I was waiting to the last minute to see if I was going to be able to make the Bash. I finally got my business sold which is great, but now I have to go work on the road for a few weeks here and there coming up and I can't make it:flame::flame:

Hopefully the next time around!

issue 3 pass's in Ohio

Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH) has released the following statement on Issue 3:

"I am terribly disappointed. As a result of the passage of Issue 3 there will be a great deal of pain and suffering in Ohio - I feel for the families of those who will experience casinos for the first time in their lives and, once lured in, will become addicted to gambling. ....

You ever notice that Republicans are all about the "free market" until they decide their morals are better than yours.

If he is so worried lower the tax rate on casinos and force them by law to have a low house edge on all games, ban 6.5, csm, 8d, and a few other rip-offs.

Really? It's the democrats in Michigan who oppose casino's and the democrats nationwide who are hellbent on taking away freedom and forcing issues down our throats such as mandatory national healthcare.

It has nothing to do with political party or morals. It's all very cynical- a far-Left governor of Connecticut also opposed the CT casinos until an acceptable percentage of slot profit was agreed to be tuned over to the state. No politician will accept casinos without getting something in return and only a rare few politicians will oppose casinos at any level of bribery. You don't believe that the land-based casinos didn't have a hand in the online gaming ban, do you?

I am sure that there is a dollar amount that will make Voinovich see the casinos as fine upstanding businesses. Unethical? Who cares? I care as much about the casinos being ****ed over by the government as the casinos care about ****ing over the public.

I'm not sure that's absolutely true. (I'm not a Republican). OH! NO! Pro21 is using EMPIRICAL Evidence! Call NORM Now!

Sorry to have derailed this into a political discussion. I really don't have much use for Democrats or Republicans, but I guess I hate the Republicans more since Bill Frist stuck the UIGEA into a port security bill and cost me a LOT of money.
