Default Foxwoods cracking down on counters

Be careful at foxwoods they are on the war path with card counters right now i got knocked to table min the other night and all my points taken from me, they also will not allow me to earn points anymore some crap like 1 point an hour is all i can earn no matter what i play for what limits. I know of a few people who are being knocked down to table min and allowed to only play one hand lately so even though it has much better PEN then mohegan i would suggest going to mohegan and just looking for the dealers which are giving better PEN. If you go on any decent run playing any decent stakes at foxwoods expect heat and possibly to be messed with, I dont know why they are all of a sudden cracking down but i have been playing there for years and never gotten one ounce of heat not even in the star gazer casino where they are known to sweat your play. I went on a GOOD run and left after the shoe was done went to cash out and was circled by 4 men and a woman who introduced herself as head of table games. She told me they had been watching me and had identified me as a skilled player and basically knew i was counting cards and that i would no longer be able to play more then one hand or more then the table minimum at foxwoods. The part i was pissed about is that they took my points away as i had a sh-tload and was spending the night there and expecting to use the points to pay for all meals and my nice suite. I only pay 59.99 for a very large suite so no big deal just would rather not pay at all. Oh well ill be back with a new identity soon enough. They say surveillence turn around at foxwoods is about every 3-6 months as it is such a crappy job with low pay i believe they make something like 8 dollars an hour which is basically working at Mickey Ds only you have to be locked in a room starring at cameras all day. ID TAKE MICKEY D'S ANY DAY OVER SURVEILLENCE. Any questions id be happy to answer just post and ill get back soon as possible.

Have you seen this happen to anyone else? Anyone else been harrassed there? I can think of a rather cool way to give them some "payback" for their arrogance... I'll call or email or talk to you later about it. You still won't get to play there for a while but you can score at least some satisfaction.

What stakes were you playing, and with what spread? How long was your session?

Were you playing in the Newport room or other HL areas at all, or on the main floor?

Having been repeatedly backed-off and trespassed at F.W. over the last 17 years, I can state unequivocally that if you play in any of the High Limit areas you will be subject to getting tossed if you win even a couple of thousand bucks playing for more than an hour or two at a time.

I was able to play the longest period of time while playing in the "Raindancer Casino".

Newport room has $100-6k tables; sometimes $50min.; star gazer has $100 or $200-6k, or 10k (they have a single-man cage up there too). Any of those tables are heavily watched, as well as the $50-100 min tables in front of the cage area in pequot. Remember, Foxwoods attendance is lowered now, people spending less in slots, and so the employees leftover after the layoffs are paying more attention to the casino games. Bored floorman and their supes are watching games and pits more closely, and calling about any body who is winning or making good bets and good hits or stays. BTW, did you meet Terrie, Mary, Tim, Donna, or Becky? Surveillance at Foxwoods is well understood; and if you're curious, there's article on the technology and a look into their operations. You would rather flip burgers at McD than sit in a room with about 3 dozen others with monitors watching all parts of Foxwoods? Did they tell you the head of table games has turnover too?

I went to Foxwoods a few years ago expecting never to return, so I played without any cover. 6 months later I did go back and was very politely backed off almost immediately. I was in the Newport Room at the time and had a guy sitting next to me and he was back-lining me. The casino mgr introduced himself to me, told me they ran a skills check on my previous play and I was welcome to play any game besides BJ. If I played BJ, I would be ejected. My comp points were also zeroed out, but they forgot to terminate my 17th floor lounge privileges, so I still had a free lunch and dinner . I was tempted to ask him if that included Sp21 and whether it included MGM, but I had family with me, so I didn't want to push it.

A simple rule to keep you out of trouble is avoid all NMS tables. Who needs to play the -EV hands at the beginning of a shoe anyway? Especially when there are dozens more where you can come and go as you please.

I've made a few thousand at one sitting in MGM/FW's HL with no heat numerous times.
I've lost a few thousand with no heat.
I've played for hours at a time in the HL room, a few times at the same table.
I've been approached twice as they watched my play, and only one hinted to take a break and come back later.

To alienate a NMS table because they are being watched closely is ludicrus or that you have to play in negative counts because it's NMS is also bizarre.

I'd rather sit at a good NMS 6d game then a 8d game that allows people to jump in and out at will. You are allowing your buddy back counters to jump in on your game when the count finally is positive, now this makes no sense to me all, and theres nothing your going to do to stop them. If the shoes starts out bad get up and find another, there are plenty of tables to choose from at this venue, but AM I would have expected alot more from you since counting is not your only means of AP.

Perhaps it's lack of cover (as 21forme stated), robotic playing, or super gluing your butt to the seat too long that creates the problem.

I prefer the HL rooms for their peace, quiet, and better conditions.

Even to the most unfriendly of pit supervisors I show respect, perhaps that goes a longer way then most may think. Talking to them, asking generally Hows your Day, etc... etc.., breaks that "drawn line in the sand" thats allows you to tip toe around.

It's been a few months since I have been there so maybe they have recently changed their MO.

bjcount,

Yes I believe that their M.O. has, in fact, changed.

That was to be expected in tough(er) economic times.

With revenues reduced, profits decline and ...

Pit Bosses get leaned on by shift managers upon whom corporate abuse is heaped.

Back in the early days of Foxwoods I won 6 figures in a matter of months before i was initially backed-off.

Ahh. The "salad days" of the early 90's !
