Has anyone studied this game? What is the house advantage?

1) 8 decks
2) no 8s, 9s, and 10s
3) contains the normal As, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s, Js, Qs, Ks
4) Js, Qs, Ks = 1/2 point
5) A= 1 point, 2 = 2 points, 3 = 3 points, 4 = 4 points, 5 = 5 points, etc..
6) the player can take a card at any point total until he passes 7 and 1/2; if the player passes 7 1/2 he loses the hand
7) if the player's point total does not pass 7 and 1/2, the dealer takes cards until his point total is 5 points or more; if the dealer passes 7 1/2, he loses the hand
8) the player wins if his point total is closer to 7 1/2 than the dealers point total; the dealer wins if his point total is closer to 7 1/2; a tie is a tie

I don't know anyone who's analyzed it thoroughly, but you might find more if you search for it by its proper name, "Sette e mezzo". I've also never seen it in a casino.

hope it helps...
Looks like spam. Unless we have all been ignorant of this guy "Julian Brown.":)

The full rules of 7 1/2 are in my book, but I won't link to it should I again be accused of spamming.:)

House Advantage

I read your description in "Modern Blackjack." Thanks..

1)Does anyone have a rough guess of the house advantage on this game?

2)Is there anyway (counting or other) to beat this game?
