Ohio casino issue passes

Well the issue #3 passed on Tuesday november 3 this involved allowing casino gaming in Ohio. The fight was a long one to say the least since it didn't pass the last six times. This opens the door for full casino gaming in Ohio tables and all. No sports books though but hey if they have tables it's one over on penntucky right now. I hope they do it right but I doubt the games will be playable if I know Ohio.

Ohio says it would like to have casinos up and running in 24 to 36 months, (2-3 years) Penn National gaming which owns the rights to 2 of the 4 ohio locations, says it hopes to have the casinos built by the end of 2012. (3 years) The way Pa is moving (still haven't passed a tables game bill) ohio will probably open first.

I don't understand why they don't do what CA AZ & NM did. Thorw up a huge tent and get the cards in the air. Gaming goes on while they build the permanent facility.

you know.. with all the vacant retail space... that's really a good idea. instant jobs, instant games, instant revenue. You could have it up and running by summer. I wonder if they would let us do that?

Yeah, I remember the tents in CA. Probably the two weirdest sessions of my life were in Middletown CA.

Ok let's get this straight, I was asked if I wanted to see casinos in ohio when this came up years ago. My standard answer is no,ohioians are too stupid and shouldn't be allowed to do anything that requires brain matter.
A little harsh you say but no it's the truth. The state has a bad track record when it comes to making or enacting laws that make any sense. The state goverment is corrupt maybe not as bad as some other states but still corrupt. I would love to see a well run and effiecient gaming commission in the state. Is it going to happen? I seriously doubt it because they didn't do the homework to make it happen.
At least the native americans were smart enough to let the white men fight it out instead of investing in costly legal battles. The started to then backed off knowning that if and when gaming passed in ohio they could then fall back on compact laws and set up shop.
I predict that the native americans will have casinos set up before the state can get thier's built. They will find an old warehouse and set up shop before paleface can get the glitzy ones built.
