Insurance in the UK. What's the deal?

hmmm . . . . not sure about the rules of the game yet then?

Insurance is offered in the ENHC-UK game but only when you pull a blackjack -if you are dealt a snapper and the dealer has an ace showing s/he'll offer you even money (pay your blackjack at 1-1 rather than 3-2) which is the same as if you took the insurance bet.

In other European countries it is common for insurance to be offered on any hand you have against a dealer's ace. So there are more opportunities to take advantage of this rule if you're counting cards and the count passes the threshold where it's advantageous to do it - which is only around 8% of the time overall. The sums, though, suggest that there is little loss in £/EUROs if you're not able to.

Been back to the house of chance yet?

Thanks for the advice, Ming. By the way, I enjoyed your long thread that started back in August where you were updating us with regular snippets on your progress.

No insurance allowed in UK

Hi there,
There is no insurance allowed in the UK in any casino`s. There are mainly six decks with good rules.Dealer stands soft 17, double on any card etc, split up to 4 times. Penetration is anything from 60 to 80%. There is a good 4 decker in London with 80% pen (great dealers!!!). Let me know if you need more info.
