Default Side Bets

There is a game in AC called Lucky Lady that pays off on a side bet when your first two cards equal 20. Any 20 pays 4 to 1, and if I recall correctly a suited 20 pays 9 to 1, a matched 20 pays 19 to 1 and if you get two queen of hearts they pay 1000 to 1. What is the general concensus on side bets, and with this game in particular?

Default sidebets

Side bets are generaly known as sucker bets, but would a skilled blackjack player, or any bj player, bet on themselves if winning multiple hands could increase their winnings?

Sure. Bets like the Luck Ladies and Royal Twenties are examples of how betting on multiple hands can increase your winnings while reducing the variance. Since the casinos often limit the amount you can bet on the side bets (usually a $25 max) you can spread to two hands inorder to get $50 on the table in a good situation.
