Attracting Attention with Betting Spread

So im wondering if im being paranoid or if I should be careful with the betting changes. I use a hi-lo count where at <+2 TC is 1 unit bet and >4 TC is 8 units bet. If you're near the end of the shoe with one hand and the TC changes from 1.5 to 4.5, would you change your bet from $5 to $40? Same type of thing if youre going from a $5 to $30 bet in the back end of the shoe. Do you try to slowly progress bets or do you just do whatever youre suppose to do? And does this really matter for $5 tables anyways where the casino might not care as much?

Thanks!

There are places that will care if you jump from $5 to $25. There are places that won't care if you jump from $5 to 2x$500. Play accordingly.

Crap, I didn't see this thread after I posted mine. I think now, the general idea is to play with no mercy, i.e. Spread however the F*** you want to. But once you get heat, back down and play more conservatively. Also remember, each casino has different tolerances for us non gambling, money making types.

If a place gets worried about your jump to $40, it's probably time to start looking for a new place to play anyway because you're not going to make any money there. A 1:8 spread at a nickel table shouldn't get you any heat playing 100% optimally unless they're a really paranoid or stupid casino (which is not as uncommon as you would hope).
