Hey peeps,

Just like to see what sort of heat they experiences in the UK casino ?

The only sign we get is pitboss speaking to managemnet or vice versa, then cut 3 decks away!

What sort of heat you get? and what sort of cover do you use? We use a 1-12 spread so is like from £5 to 2 hands of £45

I was there a few months ago and your right, they will cut deep if they suspect you’re counting. Napoleons has one of the best games for small stakes but they will pay close attention when you bet over 200 pounds. The best casino is the Ritz, good game and great atmosphere. Table min 10 pounds on 1 table, others 25-100. Only problem is you need to join, which means showing ID, still very little heat.

So you finally got sussed?????

Despite the fact that penetration has always seemed to be dealer dependent, I've never known any dealer cut three decks off where I've played. I did see over a third being cut away when I played in London once, but that was as I sat down, so I don't think it was anything other than the dealer not being ar$ed to be more precise with the cutoff.

I started a conversation about a dealer I knew suffering from RSI as a result of a lifetime working the tables, and the more frequently she shuffled up the more it exaccerbated the problem - in the end she had to give up work. When she finally returned nobody would employ her anymore because they thought she would be a high sickness and insurance risk. That usually solves the problem.

Perhaps you ought to take some of your winnings and invest in some el-cheapo train/plain tickets to other cities?

Best wishes for the festive season and a happy (and profitable) New Year.

UK heat

I have had the deck cut on me a few times (usually right down the middle) and its quite scary when it happens! I will usually promptly make an excuse to leave. I then steer clear from that place for a while. I haven't really knowingly experienced any other forms of heat.

Having said that, I know that some UK casinos will bar you without any prior heat or warning signs. In other words, don't assume they're not suspicious of you just because they are yet to cut the deck on you.

It has been so sick, barred from 4 gala already.. luckily another gala in my city has not barred us yet!

They are being pure pricks about it, the manager won't even come out to speak to us, just told us to write a letter in to ask why .....

PM me and let me know which four.

If you haven't received a letter from HO advising that your membership has been terminated, it's a local management matter. Just wait until the guy running the place gets the sack and/or moves on and is replaced. Don't write in or you'll get the "your membership is terminated" letter and that'll make you toast across the rest of the UK.

Here's an example of the reply you can expect if you do put pen to paper:

What to do when you're half-shoed

I would advise you never to stop playing when you're half-shoed (or 4/6 shoed, 5/6 shoed...) . Keep playing for another shoe or two, or more if you can.

They may think you're an AP, they may know you're an AP, they may be nervous, maybe someone from another branch came in that night and told them to half-shoe you, maybe they're worried about another player at another table - who knows.

If they think you're an AP - or are suspicious - leaving when you're half-shoed simply confirms this and now they know you're an AP. Remember, you're a ploppy there to have fun playing blackjack - if they want to shuffle up more, why should you care.... Or you can get the ploppies at the table worked up about this so that they complain about the frequent shuffle-ups.

Forgot to add it says on the system we are "suspended, no entry allow" No other reason given.

Also from speaking to a ex dealer, it says when you gets banned/suspended from one it will appear when you enter another branch.

Do you think is worth trying to speak to the general manager? Or they will keep giving us stupid excuses like they are not in/busy etc etc?

Ouch . . .

Look's like it'll have to be another town and "sorry I've forgotten my membership card". Get some friends who are not into it all to apply for membership and you can use their names and addresses if challenged at Reception.
