I don't have a Bankroll but...

Tell me if this is an acceptable way to go about playing with a very minimal but replentishable bankroll.

I have a very large casino near by with a .66 house advantage and amazing penetration. If I backcount and only wong in when the count is favorable and I have the advantage.

I'm using the Knockout unbalanced counting system and would probably wait until the running count was right in between the pivot point and the key count.

If i'm only playing in profitable situations, I believe this would work. I suppose my main question is what % of the chips on me would I want to bet? Yes I could flat bet at an advantage, but I'd rather ramp the bet up with the increased advangtage. I realize I'd want to bet at max 50% of what I have on me if I get dealt AA or 88 and need to split, but since I may have to split, resplit, or double after splitting how much is the max I can bet in relation to what I have one me?

Depends if you just want to play bj for fun, then flat bet at advantage situations sure will make your money last. But as for making money, your idea just don't add up.

I do the same. I always take 40 or 50 units to a session to play with. I know that if I play around an hour, there is an outside chance (less than 10%) that I could lose the lot. If I get to the end of an hour or so, and am down, then I know if I play another hour the RoR will have increased - if I'm down to 20 units at that point, one split with a double down at a higher count could clean up what's left.

Bearing in mind the table mins, how many units can you take to the table?

My gut feeling is that if you can't take 40 units to the tables you probably shouldn't play until you have enough in your pocket to do so.

about 30-40 units. I'm in college now and paying my own way so I don't see it growing any time soon.

CHEF- what i'm saying is to backcount, and wong in when the count skyrockets, but simply flatbet while at this higher count and ride out on the small probably .5% advantage I have over the casino while the deck is hot

Your advantage, in $/hr would be miniscule. You could make more money with a part time job at the local McDonalds, plus you'd get free food and be contributing to society.

Gotcha.

I'll play devil's advocate  and go against what StandardDeviant says: if you have the patience, the discipline, and just enough capital to be able to backcount with greens, then enjoy yourself. You're young, and there's plenty of time in life to slave away  Although you probably won't get rich from a small beginning, a profitable hobby is hard to come by.

good luck :joker:

If you get some profits out of this, try to get someone to invest in this, if you know anyone who's willing to do things out of the box. That way you have a bankroll, get yourself loaded, and work out a plan with your investor. It's not impossible I say.
