Shameful B.J. Procedures at Mont Tremblant

My excitement at playing the new Casino at Mont Tremblant, while on vacation last week (Thursday Jan. 14th), was quickly replaced with disgust.

I sat down with friends to play Black Jack. The dealer announced "last hand" as the "cut card" eventually came up. As players, we continued to play the cards dealt us. The dealer dealt my playing partner a "black jack",me a "soft 17" and dealt herself a "2". She then announced she could not continue as she said "last hand" ? she would not pay the "black jack" and made an effort to collect the played cards. There were 20-30 cards left in the shoe. At this point I asked her not to collect the cards as the house dealt everyone at the table including herself. I asked to speak with a "pit boss" or "supervisor". Another dealer came over and said "sorry" but that was the "last hand" and would "not be played nor any black jack paid". I again asked for a supervisor. After 5 minutes ?? a supervisor arrived and reiterated that they would not continue play or payup ? After continued debate they would not waver and she announced "this is not Vegas" ? I will never play there again and will share the shameful customer service with all players, the Casino and Tourism Quebec.

TheCasino has a legal obligation to pay the hands if they dealt the cards. It is considered a verbal contract when the player places money in the betting circle and the cards are dealt. (in the U.S, anyway) The Casino violated this contract... In this case I would pursue legal action. They basically stole from you.

Call the gaming commission immediately. If there isn't a gaming commission, don't play there again.

I've been, and i believe what happened is true. The casino is government owned, there is no other competitions else where and they can really treat you like S**T

It's not that I believe no one has ever been cheated by the house, but that the casino would allow 95% penetration. The casino is run by a group that typically cuts the pen at 65-70% in all their other casinos. So I doubt they would make an exception and allow a 95% cut.

Where does it say 95% penetration?

Also note that the casino is pretty new. Maybe they haven't clamped down on the penetration yet.

The poster mentioned 25-30 cards left. Out of four decks, 26 cards cut off is 87.5% penetration, which isn't quite 95% and is in fact much more plausible. I have seen cuts like that with my own eyes at several stores.

And perhaps Lance is not an expert like us and underestimated the amount of cards left for the purpose of his story. Maybe there was actually closer to a deck left and his eyes weren't trained as well as ours to know the difference.

I don't see a motive to make up something like this. It all sounds quite plausible to me.
