Question about Card Counting and Basic Strategy

#1
I've been reading the posts, studying the basic strategy and reading up about card counting. My question is:
If one follows the basic strategy and card counting method correctly which game would be more advantageous or would give the player more edge over the house? The 6D hand (manual) shuffle or the continuous shuffle machine? For some reason my belief is that the hand shuffle is more advantageous to the player over the machine, or doesn't it matter. I have always play at the tables where they all have csm. I've always have doubts about the machines. How do we know what goes on in that machines. Is it truly shuffle or does it do more than shuffling (uh like cheat to give the house more of an edge?). Am I being paranoid toward those csm? Please share your inputs. Thanks in advance.

IMO it makes no difference. The only reason a hand shuffle would be more advantageous is if you're shuffle tracking, then at that point you'd wanna be playing at that table. Some players do prefer hand shuffle since they're mostly paranoid of cheating machines but I doubt many if any casinos do this. If you want to follow a group of aces through a shuffle then play at the hand shuffle tables.

In my experiences, hand shuffle games seem to have higher variance of counts due to clumping of the cards and dealers that are not very good at shuffling.

The OP is likely referring to ASMs and simply used the wrong term. ASMs are preferable for a non-tracker because you can get in more hands per hour (no time spent shuffling). A simple shuffle is preferable to this because even a novice tracker can get an edge, but you'll almost always see very complex shuffles, at which point a basic counter will like to have an ASM at work.

You can't count with CSMs. If you're referring to ASMs, still it's preferable for a hand shuffle, whether you're tracking or not.

Care to explain why? If I'm not tracking, I'd rather get in the extra few hands per hour with the ASM rather than waiting for the dealer to hand shuffle. In other words, if the shuffle is very weak, I'll do some limited tracking, but if the shuffle is even a little bit strong, I'd prefer the ASM. I'd be more in favor of the hand shuffle if I were better at tracking, but unfortunately right now I'm not.
