Hello fellow BJ players! First time posting here. First question I have is the strategy trainer on this site dependable? I have played the trainer for 9 hours and simulate the game that I play in the local indian casino's here. 8 Deck, 1.5 cut out of shoe, can double after splitting, 3:2 BJ, dealer hits soft 17. I have a $1000 playing BR, bet $15 to $75 depending on count. I can easily get these kinds of bets down in the casino's here as long as I play with red. My goal is to make $100 per day. On the training game here at this site, seems very simple to do. I have been a long time Basic strategy player, and now have invested enough time to count down a deck of cards in 30 seconds. From you experts I am wondering if I can expect this result in the casinos? I appreciate all your input in advance, thank you.

First, you need a bigger spread than 15-75 to beat a H17 8 decker with decent but non-remarkable penetration. Even if it had RSA and surrender you'd want to spread more. 8D H17 DAS with more than a deck cut is what we call a "marginal" game. Do they not have $5-$10 tables? Otherwise, wonging is a must, unfortunately.
You don't need to count down a deck in 30 seconds, you just need to be able to keep count in casino conditions, even with a fast dealer. Practicing counting down a deck is only useful to a point.
Making $100 a day is unrealistic with many blackjack games. It is a game of high variance, first of all, you will have a large minority of losing sessions with that game. Also with that spread, I am no expert but the averaged win rate would probably be less than most crappy part time jobs.
Also with that poor game, that $1k can be QUITE easily wiped out.
Not trying to be negative, sorry, but these facts must be disclosed. Playing this less than stellar game with a low bankroll and small spread will in fact be a high risk venture. I am almost tempted to say you should just stick with basic strategy, your money would probably last longer then.

I agree with most of what blue said. No 1 problem is your BR is too small. General rule of thumb is 100 top bets to have a reasonable chance of not going broke. Thats $7500 in your case. No 2 problem is 1-5 spread is not enough to beat this game unless you are not playing negative counts. If you could play a $10 table, as Blue suggested and spread $10 - $75 and sit out or leave negative true counts of -1, you would be much better off.

First gentlemen, allow me to thank you for the information. Information like that is priceless, thanks. The game is a $5 table. I am not sure if it is any better for me spreading from $5 to $75? Plus I do want to clarify and see if it makes any difference and that is I have a playing BR of $1000 and a total BR of $10K. Perhaps my original thoughts of $100 win per day was a bit naive, but nevertheless, hopeful.
