Extraordinarily high TC halfway thru shoe...

This experience was a first for me. About halfway through the 8D shoe the RC (zen) went up to 40+. I lost. The count continued to climb. Soon my max bet was out. Again I lost. And again. And again. And again. I lost about 6 straight hands. I was $1200 down in 5 - 10 minutes. I was gonna cry. I wanted to quit. I thought, "OMG it took me 10 minutes to lose what took me 40 hours to gain..." The dealer commented, "Woah there, slow down buddy!" The other players looked at me like I was a fool. I felt SO MUCH pressure to quit and walk away! Fortunately, the TC remained high for the rest of the shoe and I didn't give up. The blackjack gods granted me mercy and I won the remaining hands. I walked away from the table with about $1600. $400 up! What a relief! Now I really understand why I have such a big BR!

I switched tables and ended up walking out of the casino up 105 units.

A message to all my fellow newb counters: MAKE SURE YOU GOT THAT BIG BR AND DON'T GIVE UP!! :whip::whip:

All right! You earned a stripe! :1st:

All of the experienced players here have earned a whole bunch of such stripes. About as much fun as a paintball game with real bullets, isn't it? Normally I use these situations to go into my "compulsive gambler on tilt" act because that's exactly what it looks like to civilians, and that's what you want to look like to the casino when you lay the kind of spread a 8D player needs to lay.

Just wondering, how many times did you pull money out of your wallet for extra buy-ins? It is kind of funny watching the ploppies look at you like you are absolutely out of your mind when you run into these situations.

i dont care what anyone wants to say you are a ****ing psycho in my eyes

not a foolish better

just a psycho

lol

i read like 3 post with u guys blasting ur 1500 dollar bank roll back and forth you beat the dealer but the other guy was not as lucky

to be honest with you tho if i was bettering like you were betting

and the count did that and kept going higher and you didnt win u know less cards higher count more t's and a's so i would have done the same thing

im a new counter like you i play and count at a 5 dollar table my max bet is most of the time on each hand is 15

im glad that you smashed that ****ing table for 400 bucks it makes me feel better about the 30 dollars they stoled from me tonight

but its cool lol

we are a ****ing legion ! haha

oh and like ming i never bring my wallet with me into that lions den

i do however bring the money clip haha and i only buy in 20 bucks at a time so when the count goes high enough

if i did have a c note i would pull it out and bet psycho then becuase i know what u guys mean about cashing in 100's all the time

you look like a crazed fool chasing on tilt with a gambling problem and the fun is like WAY over to the average fool.

First off, prior to yesterday my BR was ~1300 UNITS (don't have my excel sheet in front of me). But yesterday I got 7 hours of play in. This tested me even further. I lost 175 units! That $2600! It was brutal. The drive home was miserable. After a good night's sleep though I'm ready to go back at it. Fortunately, I'm now getting awesome comps!

ANOTHER LESSON LEARNED: Variance is a bitch!

hmm if it is of any consolation, lost 192 units last night. Lost 72 units in one hand. Had 2 hands of 12 units each. split the first hand of nines and got 2 19s. split the sixes on my other hand. Drew 2 more sixes which i split. So now i have 6 hands with totals ranging from 15 to 19. Dealer had a 5 up card which he eventually turned into a hand of 20. Ouch!
