Money
I am going to Vegas in a little over two weeks and am wondering whats the best way to bring money down for my trip? My options are getting travellers cheques, using my debit card, and/or simplying bringing down a huge amount of cash.
One problem is I don't have a credit card, but if it would make it a lot easier I could borrow a family members. Another problem is I'm coming from Canada so I'll have to deal with the exchange rate and would like to pick the cheapest method of the options above.
My BR is $14,000 and I'm not exactly sure how much of it I should have access to on the trip, I'll be in Vegas for about 5 days.

Personally, I would bring the whole amount cash in my pocket, exchanging it $2000-3000 at a time. Buy a money belt for the bulk of it. zg

What percentage of my BR should I bring for my trip? Would you exchange the money at the casino or try to find a better exchange rate at a bank?

Like I said, I would pack the full amount SECURELY. As for exchange rate, I wouldn't care much at that (small) amount... BUT some casinos have better rates, not sure which ones. zg

Would you use/trust the safes the casinos offer to their guests to store your money in?

Yes, both deposit boxes at the cage and in-room safes, both good... BUT to travel with it is what I meant - use a moneybelt. And don't purchase your air ticket with cash, and have your room reservation recipt for Vegas on your person incase the cash is questioned at the airport.... its probably not enough to cause an incident.
You could also bite the bullet cost wise with AE travelors' checks... or even Canadian postal money orders (I think the casino would take them but not sure). Personally I just carry the cash in my pocket. The bulk of it in my back pocket if I'm off the beaten path.
I have also wired the cash from my bank to the casino - call the casino and ask the procedure. zg
