If anyone with any info on the best games to play in the upper midwest and Canada could share that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone wants to practice/start a team let me know, I'm probably still considered an amateur but I do have good math skills and have around 20 hours of reading and practice. Thanks, Chris in Moorhead, MN

sorry to break it to ya but your probably not gonna get many people disclosing great places to play. As games keep getting worse and worse, players have begun to realize the value of keeping quiet on good games, especially in public forums. GL

You'll find some variety in the burbs of the Twin Cities. 4 places to play within 30 miles of the immediate metro. As for good games, you'll find more favorable than not.

30 miles is a bit generous, unless you're counting the 2 horse tracks that offer extremely tough BJ.
And counting L6 as separate from ML, which I think is borderline. Unless I'm overlooking something.

Didn't even think about L6. I haven't even been there and I'm 15 minutes from the res. But I was counting Aces and Cantebury, and I guess TI is a bit more than 30 miles from the metro.

It's not worth it really, theres's 8 tables. No surrender tables, and instead of a DD they have a 3 decker.

When ML is right there it's definitely not worth it. I may stop by some time on a Friday/Saturday when ML is packed with kids who don't know what they're doing and hope for a better crowd (my bankroll limits me to 5-15 min), and being 15 minutes away from ML/L6 it's really not that big of a deal at all. But it does give options to those who seem to deviate from ML for one reason or another.

Is L6 worth it? I mean its right down from ML, but I don't recall the games at L6. Then again, I'm not a local so maybe someone else can chime in.

The kids that don't know how to play ARE like locusts and it can be tough to play when they swarm, but they keep the heat low at ML

From what I understand L6 isn't worth it. And I think either way, when traffic is high at ML it'll be the same at L6. I'm of the age where I should flock to $5 tables (under 21) and play like an idiot, but I don't. I usually go monday-wednesday.

I've only seen people get heat twice at ML for all the time I've been playing there. One was raking upwards of 125k in HS, and the other was up there as well. I also am on a first-name basis with 3 of the PC and about 10 dealers, and they've told me as long as I (or we) keep it under 15-25k I/we shouldn't experience any problems. Keep in mind that ML is the second-most profitable casino in the US (or they were, things may have changed). It'd be pretty difficult to get heat either way I believe.

If anyone needs any table updates I'll be happy to make the drive 15 minutes west there and give a full report on the conditions too

That is good to know. I'm going to try counting there first, seeing as I'm only 30 minutes away and I have a VERY limited bankroll (I'm under 21 with no job, no wonder I have a limited bankroll) so I definitely should not receive heat.

With that low bankroll, be sure to quit while you're ahead! Don't get greedy. It's simply a matter of luck at this point.
