Default Advanced Card Counting or just Hi Lo?

So I am relatively new to Blackjack, and have just mastered and memorized all the basic strategy.

My question is, right now I am learning the basic HiLo method of counting, but I have read in some books that theres some HiOpt method with matrixes that tell u to deviate from basic strategy and stuff, and my question is:

How much more of an advantage would it be to learn this more Advanced system?

I am 18 and cant gamble at a Casino without automated shufflers for about 6 months, so I got time to learn whatever....

Thanks guys

Just learn HiLo LITE -or- KO-Preferred. BOTH give you BS departure indices. zg

Very little. It may add up to a few hundred dollars over a lifetime of play, or less. If you are making too many mistakes with the more advanced system or playing slower then you may actually be reducing your win rate.

I agree with ZG, just learn the Hi-Lo for now. It will take a long time and a lot of practice until you are ready to hit the casinos. A simpler system will make the job easier and have you playing sooner.

Also, the Hi-Opt strategies rely on an ace side count. They are pretty much worthless without the side count so I don’t recommend them.
