Double Back Jack?

#1
I posted this as a question to the Wizard of Odds, but no answer yet- looking for some help:

A local casino recently introduced a blackjack variation: Double Back Jack. There's some nice features along with some crazy rules. Here's the site, which includes a strategy chart: (Dead link: http://www.doublebackjack.com/)

I dislike the basic premise, which is the additional bet to "rescue" your hand by getting an extra card and subtracting it from your total, since the original bet only pushes on a win. I like the instant win on all 21s, and that naturals are paid 2 to 1, but can't figure if it is enough to overcome the negatives built into the game. A big plus for the house is that the dealer doesn't lose on 22- it pushes all remaining hands.

So many of the dealer's busting hands are 22's that this rule is deceptively powerful for the house.

The dealer pushing all on 22 is in effect in Blackjack Switch.

I read a discussion of this. I think that it was on bj21.com

As I recall, the consensus was that, on balance, it's a horrendous game.

Couldn't find that thread on BJ21

Flash, I'm sure you're right, but I want some more data before I write this one off for good. I searched for the BJ21 thread and came up dry- any clue as to how or where I might find it?.
