Anyone else ever mess up like this?

I was playing early yesterday morning, probably had not had enough coffee yet so I was not as sharp as I could have been. Another player drew a five card 15, composed of three aces and two low cards that I don't recall exactly, I think it was an 8 and a 4. He had trouble calculating his total with the three aces in there and asked the dealer "what is that?" The dealer hesitated a moment longer than I had patience for so I blurted out the number. Except I did not say 15. I blurted out m6. Why ??????? because my running count at the moment was minus 6. I realized my stupidity as the words were leaving my big mouth but it was too late. I avoided direct eye contact but noticed at least three quick suprise head turns in my direction. The dealer did not seem to acknowledge what I said and the pit guy that was standing there did look over at me but kind of laughed then went back to yawning and admiring his own tie. I cashed out after that shoe and went home, but after thinking about it I did not feel like the phrase had registered with any of them. Did I mess up bad or am I being over paranoid about this blunder?

So what if you say "-6"

Ofcourse you were kidding :)

It's totally based on your reaction to pit boss's bluff when he is trying to look at you. Dealer is irrelevant here.
There was a casino where I am well known sucker. Once on my first buy-in, I handled dealer's wrong player card-which already been backed off. She said "This player card is on different name, you might want to give id." and hence i got it back before creating any trouble for me..

My advice....keep your mouth shut while at the table, as you get more experienced you will learn to talk and play a highly skilled game,,,so for now shut up and mind your own business.

It's a classic rookie mistake.

Someone else on this board mentioned one time, when someone asked him what the burn card was, he said "minus 2".

No, you did great. You said "Mmmmm, six!" because you wanted a 6 for your 15.
