One of the supidest ploppie comments I've heard yet

Title should say stupidest! I was playing at a horrible table that was criticizing my play for doing things like hitting 12 vs a dealer 3 and doubling a soft 18 vs a dealer 6. Well after a while when there was this ploppie who had no idea what to do and looked around the table for advice, I advised him that doubling his soft 18 vs a dealer 5 wasn't a bad move. He decided to take my advice. Well unfortunately it didn't work out for the table and the 3rd baseman was giving me tons of grief to the point where it was abusive. The best line uttered by him? I mentioned to him that I go by the "book." He responds, "%$#* the book." "Do you think the guy who wrote the book would write the book if he could actually play." If he wasn't cursing, I would have had a very hard time not laughing as apparently, Standford Wong, Snyder, etc have no clue how to play BJ. I wanted to yell at his hillbilly a$$, "Go back to your dumpster and maybe you might find a dictionary in it. If so, be sure to look up the word variance."

One meets the most amazing people at a casino-particularly at the blackjack tables. Just keep in mind that it's goombahs like this guy who keep the casino in $$$, so they can pay you off!:joker:

Plus they allow you cover. You can make index plays that are tame compared to the plays these clowns make. I always enjoy pissing the ploppies off when I hit 12v3. I always say that I had a gut feeling on that one.

Just sit back, enjoy a laugh and have fun. A BJ dealer's job as to be pretty entertaining at times, while they listen to all these absurd comments.

12 vs 3 is mild, see the response when you hit 12 vs. 6...this is my favorite index play b/c it (almost) always occurs with just 1 unit....and, of course, I am there to bet 20 units.

I was commenting on 12v3 because that is a basic strategy hit that they get mad at me for making. I find it amusing when they comment on me hitting it.

It's amazing how they'll criticize you for hitting 12 vs a dealer 6 but when joe stupid stands on a soft 17 vs. a dealer 10, they don't say anything. Arggh, I'd love to just play at a table where everyone there knows BS at the minimum. I can dream right?

I don't bother, but why not try to sell these loudmouths your hand.
Tell him- you are such a genius, buy my hand and show us how a real man plays it. There's nothing wrong with reverse scavanging a fool.

I think we all have to suffer when these daft players make stupid comments!

I'd love to sell my hand tho! Those 16 v 10 is a great one to sell and profit on if anyone is wanting to buy it :p.

So I'm at the table and I get A/7 vs 10 and I take a hit. The guy to my right says "THAT'S AN 18 'YA KNOW" Now routinely I'd just say something like "oh really?" playing the novice all the way. I guess my blood sugar was low or something and I turned and said "It's a soft 18-according to basic strategy you hit on a dealers' 9,10, or Ace. You stand on dealers' 2,7,or 8 and you double down on dealers' 3,4,5,or6!!!" The guy walked away.
Another time the count is through the roof, dealer has an Ace up so I take insurance. The dealer is looking at me with a look of disbelief on his face and says "hey you can do what you want ok? but you're gonna insure 13?"
Of course he had a 10 in the hole and this "novice" "got lucky."
This guy bought into the notion that it might be smart to "insure" say a 20 but boy it's dumb to "insure" a 13! 'Ya gotta love it!:joker:
