Ok I went and stayed for an hour. Signed up for their Players card and got $10 worth of table coupons. I actually just stood there and back counted a shoe. Anyways at the start of a new shoe I bet $5 plus the a five dollar coupon. The dealer said that the coupons are for match play and I have to bet the table minimum then the coupons will match. So when I played the coupons at the $10 min table. (BTW this was an 8 deck shoe.) On the first hand I pushed the second hand I lost and the third hand I got a BJ!! Now the dealer paid me 1.5 for the cash bet BUT could only pay me even money for the coupon!! Booooo! Anyways I was getting antsy so I left with an extra $10!! Woo hoo!!

The casino itself was pretty nice. The "cocktail waitresses" carried around a tray of soft drinks and gave them to the players. I heard person order a wine and that's all I heard about liquor. One thing though, no craps!!

Well I won $115! It looks like the negative variance streak is over with!!!! However I was still a little gun shy about raising the bets and DD but I did it anyways.

The rules were 8d shoe, DD any two.

Here's the list of what happened. Started out with a $10 table and went down $45. Took a lunch break to bring my consentration back. When I came back to the table they changed the limits to $5 min!! Woo hoo!

Anyways when I came back variance changed to positive. The chips began a very slow increase. Then in the last hour positive variance hit. Sometimes I would win the hand by one point. I would DD and either catch a ten/eleven. Many times the dealer would bust. Towards the end I started to rathole (?) chips. BTW, this time I didn't drink.

The down side was I kept loosing count after three rounds. But I don't think the count ever went above 3. Anyways more later.

I can't believe it because I started out with some winnings and lost it all back plus part of my bankroll. I "Wonged out" of negative counts and still no luck. Then all of a sudden BANG!! Positive variance hit! I won back the $150 down then my winnings. I was "rat-holing" chips and felt like my pockets were going to burst. The last 1.5 - 2 hrs were great! So I kept playing until I didn't want to draw any attention. Again, the final winnings are $320!!

More later!

Default River Rock

I've been to River Rock a couple times recently.

Anyone planning to go there should know that their shoe game has a sign limiting any bet to no more than 5 times the previous bet.

Their DD game has a cut card that is usually placed just past 50% and then dealt past. The game is no mid-shoe entry and dealt from a shoe not from a hand.

50% penetration in a shoe game is an utter absurdity,

but just plain nuts is quintupling one's bet in one round.

That's for the DD game. At the 8D shoe game there is a 1 - 2 deck pen.

Won a total of 44.5 units! Was getting some stares from the PC but that's it. Not getting afraid too raise my bet either. Split tens once too!

This was also the first time I played two hands. The TC went up to +5 or something. So I played two hands and mostly won on those. Recovered from my loses.

Anyways I got some positive variance. Also I found a couple of weaknesses in my game. One is that I do lose the count sometimes. The other is that I am still not sure if I have the count right. Anyways that's more practice.

BTW there was this ploppy who did not want to hit an 11 because he didn't want to take the dealer's bust card. lol Anyways the other players and myself talked him out of it and he hit. Then we won after the dealer got a 17 or something.

Other than the one about the Aussie BJ team, this is my favorite thread on the forum. Thanks.

Thanks man.

The only problem with RR is they have only one decent red chip game. The rest are SD/DD with horrendous rules or CSMs.
