pontoon high house edge?

#1
Hi, al my local casino, there are many $10 pontoon tables and only 3 $10 BJ tables that are only opened for about half the day.

I did not play the pontoon they offered, it is just like BJ with all the 10 cards out. They all use CSM and 6decks. I assumed that because of the lack of high cards in the game that the house edge would be increased, because the count would always be -4 because of the CSM the count wouldn't change.

I am also going to assume i am missing something :), but i do know know what. Is the house edge larger in pontoon then BJ because of the missing 10s? and is the out always -4 if a CSM is used. OR does using a pontoon BS make the house edge similar to playing BJ with BS.

Thanks for any response

Here is one response: Don't play against a CSM. If you insist, get K. Walker's book on Spanish 21 and Pontoon so you can learn Basic Strategy for the specifics of your local game. Warning: It is not easy.

The favourable rules on pontoon make the house edge on the game similar to BJ when using correct basic strategy (often better). Correct basic strategy for pontoon is very different than BJ and can be found here. http://wizardofodds.com/pontoon
If you are serious about winning at the game Katrina Walker's book is the definitive source.
