Casino Moments

One needs 10 posts in order to PM anyone and so I am going to up my posts to ten by sharing some casino moments…

Casino moment #1 – When I was in grade school my grandparents took me on a trip to Florida. While there we went on a day cruise in Tampa Bay. I somehow found my way into the boat casino where my grandfather was playing dollar slots. He gave me some dollar coins and let me play my own machine next to him. I won $10 and was thrilled. Soon after I was asked to leave the casino, but my grandfather got to keep the winnings!

Memorable player

Casino moment #2

So far the most memorable person I have encountered at a casino-

She was drinking, gambling, smoking & PREGNANT! Our dealer was advising the player to please not drink or smoke at her table. She was pleading the player to not smoke around her (because she too was pregnant).

Despite the dealer informing the player the ramifications her actions will have on the players baby, she told the dealer it was none of her business.

Upgrades

Casino moment #3

I’ve only been to Vegas 4 times… but 3rd time is a charm?

I read about tipping the check-in desk for a “complementary room upgrade.”

I was staying at Paris on a friend of mine’s comps. He was staying at Mirage (also on comps). We both tried tipping the front desk agents $50 for room upgrades.

Success! My average room was upgraded to a $1,500 a night suite! It had a separate bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, a dining and living room! The best part was that because I was there on comps the total cost of the room ended up being around $225 for Thurs-Mon which I split with my friend who had joined me on the trip!

He was however not so successful at Mirage, where he was in a very nice standard room.

You forgot to mention she was still wearing her wedding gown! zg

I would rather see someone wearing anything that seems odd - wedding dress, bikini, burlap sack at the tables, but watching people drink & smoke while pregnant is really, really sad.

more fun with slots

Here is my last story (for now)… My first trip back inside a casino after the slots when I was a child also involved slot machines. I am not a big fan of slot machines (today) but my friend wanted to take me out on a weeknight to a local casino.

The casino was really dead. We were drinking and not being serious about much. We were randomly hitting dollar slot machines. It was less than 10 random machines (each only playing $1) and we were paid $300.

My friend had been supplying the funds for the random slot play. I assumed he was going to scoop up the $300 and likely continue to treat me to drinks, dinner, etc. He however grabbed a bucked for me (this was when slots paid in tokens/coins).

He split the winnings 50/50 with me! I don’t think we stayed very long because it was a weeknight and it was so dead and felt eerie.

To this day my friend is still a good friend of mine (but he now lives states away). We’ve gone to Vegas together and tend to always share our winnings with our accompanying friends in the form of drinks, dinners and sometimes a bankroll.

If I were a cop, I'd arrest her for attempted murder.
