Do I have this setup incorrectly?

I've setup an online blackjack game, but some users are complaining that it is unfair (as in the house edge is higher than it should be). I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get the odds from my setup and finding anything that could be causing issues with the odds.

  • One deck is used and is reshuffled before each hand
  • Blackjack pays 3 to 2
  • Dealer stands on soft 17
  • Player can double on any 2 cards
  • Player can split any pair
  • Players can only split once

IF the players can double with ANY 2 cards - after splitting a pair, then these rules are as "fair" as a game
can be when the cards are shuffled after every hand. Unlimited pair splits should be permitted of course.

NOTHING to actually complain about.

Your rules look pretty fair except for the split limitations. Most casinos allow splitting up to 4 hands, although unlimited splits aren't too costly on your end. If you want to figure out your edge, you can plus it into the basic strategy engine on this site. Honestly, you can probably add more decks and your customers won't notice. Then, you can add rules like surrender or bonuses like 777 suited pays 2:1 and it will still be a profitable game

If you were to set up a website in which you were giving away brand new $100 bills with no strings attached, you would have people complaining that you were being unfair. Scientists have actually done experiments similar to this, and proved it to be true!

This is a great idea. Add a few of these stupid little bonus rules. Some of these rules, such as 777 suited, or 678 suited, or 6 card charlie; actually will cost you almost NOTHING, but the fools will actually think they're GETTING something, and will FLOCK to your site.

Improve your rules slightly, maybe calling a six card 21 an automatic winner,, then add an optional bonus bet with a huge house edge. My favorite is a Royal Match that pays 2-1 for suited and 50-1 for the Royal match. Its a huge sucker bet but ploppies love it.

I've got the best modification of all! Put a Tie sidebet in there where the player wins 10:1 on any push. It's a great sucker bet, you'll make a ton of money. Just make sure the player can bet whatever he wants on the sidebet, don't limit it to what he bets on the main bet, because the sidebets are where the money is for the house. :eyepatch:

Say I make those bets. I bet $1 for ten hands, if no push I up the bet to $2, if after X amount of hands no push, I up the bet to $3, ect and so forth. Seems like you'd have to be pretty unlucky losing $100 under those circumstances while winning $100 means winning no more than ten bets.
Appears like it woul be a pretty fair bet.
