Hollywood casino improvements

I stopped in the hollywood casino to find it has changed a lot. In the past it was 4/8 decks throughout, but now all games I saw were 1.5-2/8 cutoff, a lot of ASMs but some multi pile hand shuffles scattered about, and they have added some csm machines but the majority of the floor remains playable.

I was there on a saturday night and the building was packed to the point where almost all games were not readily playable, and even walking around was difficult. Tables mins at BJ were 25 and 50 for sat night.

Last time I was in they had a rule that If you enter midshoe, you are limited to the table Min, something to consider before heading out here, generally speaking, the games are now exploitable and comparable to most other games.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Sounds like management is figuring out how to make money! Don't waste time shuffling, deal the cards. The next step is for them to realize to not have all the tables crowded with people watching. They need to hire some part time staff for evenings and weekends so they can have more tables open.

That's a management problem EVERYWHERE I play except Vegas.

Ferretnparrot ,

It would be helpful if you told us WHICH Hollywood casino you are referring to.

Casinos with that name exist in several states.

BTW, are you saying that this place actually dealt BJ with 50% shoe pen' to the public ?

I have never seen that.

Ferret is talkin bout the one in Grantville PA i believe. I get out there as often as possible-which is not very often. Plenty of 8 deckers with surrender and 10 minimums on weekdays. I had ample opportunity for backcounting and wonging as well. Penetration is decent.Good times.

I haven't played in Costa Rica in > 5 yrs. and the pen' was 4.5/6 back then.

The trick was finding the very few places that would (illegally) deal blackjack,
instead of a ubiquitous and dreadful (legal) substitute, found in C.R., dubbed
"Rommy", a form of 21 that at first glance like Spanish21,
but upon close inspection, the rule set makes the game little more than legal larceny.

Yes, it is in grantville pa, being the only one on the east coast to my knowledge, i didnt think to specify.

Yes, there was a time when EVERY TABLE was dealt 50% pen on 8 decks, it was the stupidest thing ever, to top it off, at one time they all hand shuffled.

I found Vegas to be crowded too. The preferred BJ clientele in most venues are now non-American players who have different attitudes about crowding than most of us.

Sometimes I seriously suspect that the discomfort they inflict on players at the tables is intentional, because a non-addict is more likely to walk away from that kind of scene and leave the spot available for the kind of player they really want.

Good last point. As for crowded Vegas conditions, I'm not usually playing during those really busy evening hours. Much better table conditions during grave and days.

better pen in a 'packed' full' 25-50 is the tradeoff..looking at nearly 1/2 deck per round...even if you can get two spots (unlikely), that has its costs at a full table too...now give me that pen H2H, duh!
